Can mankind ever live together in true peace?

I wonder. Is it possible for human beings to reach the level where we'd all love each other enough to be able to live in true Peace? Is it within the human capacity? Is it something the World is ever likely to experience? What will it take? What will it look like? What things of today would have to be "tossed-out"? What "new" things would we need to encourage, and incorporate in our everyday lives? What negative attitudes would we have to learn to rise above? What negative "influences" would we have to resist and even abolish? What do YOU think? Here's what I think! How To Promote Peace! I don't think so. We all think we are better than the other. But that is just our way of thinking. First we have to learn that war, murder, rape, corruption, slavery and all those other bad and stupid habbits that we as humans have, is unnecessary and we have to learn to contol ourselves. We are too set in our ways and things that happened in the past. We should really try harder to live and do things together, as we are only making ourselves unhappy. And each country,s government should at least try to grow up and really be an example to their citizens.

You said it! And, well said, too! There is so much that we seem to become involved with that does not really encourage Peace. From the TV cartoons rife with violence and other negativity to the outright corruption within our hallowed halls of Government and Justice...and so much in between. Wars, murders, rapes, corruption, slavery...as you point out, are all unnecessary; except to allow for one faction to overtake another faction out of greed, envy, malice, hatred, power-mongering, and other similarly negative influences. And, I agree that we're all too set in our ways, to expect that over 6 billion people could EVER "see eye-to-eye"! I know it's "possible", but I also know it's not "probable"; at least not anytime very soon. In my opinion, Mankind still has to learn a whole lot more about some things before we'll ever really know how to "love our neighbors as we love ourselves", or "do unto others what we'd like others to do unto us", or "love God with all our heart, mind, body and strength"; and other peace-inducing, "God-commanded" behaviors. But, again, since it begins with "ME", I must simply look at how I can learn to behave in ways that encourage Peace; and resist behaving in ways that do not. I have to say, since i came onto mylot my views have started to change towards others, and in a good way. But as long as a few of us give it a go, anything MIGHT be possible. You have to start somewhere. TATA.

Ahh...yes, indeed! I agree. They say that "True Peace begins with ME. That's ME, myself; and ME, you; and ME, the next person..."; and on and on it goes. With over 6 billion individuals on the planet, it might take a while! lol But, since it begins with ME, I'll try to concentrate on what I need to do to help promote Peace.
