Hey everyone.... I am new to this site and so far pretty amazed by it.... My question is 1) Have you ever traveled around germany? 2) What were the best areas to travel to? 3) Was it worth it?

Germany like any other country has enough for a tourist to enjoy. It is not possible to cover the entire country and so a tourist selects what he wants to see. I was on a package holiday and we were shown the Black Forest area, The chocolate making, The Cuckoo clock wonder, etc. Some churches with rare architecture. Please visit the site: http://www.germany-tourism.co.uk/EGB/highlights_of_germany/master.htm and make your choice. Happy travelling. But learn atleast to say guten morgan, gute nacht, Ich libe dich

Hi! I travelled a lot around Germany, I enjoyed it. I prefer the smaller cities, many of them are very nice. Hamburg and Berlin are big, but they are very interesting. I spent a few weeks in the Hamburg area and there are plenty of small cities. Balck Forest is also worth visiting.

~ hi and welcome to Mylot! I hope you will enjoy the site as well. I have traveled four times to Germany till now- three times by bus and once by plane! I have visited several of the biggest cities there, and I can tell you that the best ones for me are- Hamburg and Hannover, from the cities I have visited. Bremen is also not a bad destination. Around Germany i have been only in Holland and it is also a very lovely country. so if you have the chance to go there i can tell you that it worths ~

Hi there! Hope you find your way around Mylot :-) I've travelled in Germany a couple a time, but I've mainly traveled through it. We have often driven from Norway to Austria on holiday, and then you have to drive through Germany. I've also taken the train through Germany to Austria, it's quite a long journey. Once, when I was studying in Austria, I took the train to visit a friend in Aachen. Aachen was really nice, especially the cathedral and the chocolate factory. Another time I visited a friend in Mannheim. Mannheim was OK, not the most charming city maybe, but we went for a long hike on the green border (border to Franch) and that was lovely. Lots of nice castles, both whole and in ruins, good weather, lovely forest. I'd defenitly go there again if I get the chance.

A lot of people including Germans from the South like Berlin. I appreciated it myself. It is a city with much culture. There is a bus that goes all around the city. I believe it is the Number 1 or 100. It goes in a circle so you can come back to the same spot in one ride. I went to Hamburg. The city was a pit quite for me, but there are some places to check out. It has the ReeperBahn which it's Red Light district. Quite a few people like to check it out during the day and night. I visited Koln or Cologne as well. There is the Rhine River which runs through. What I liked about Koln was the wide walkways. There is a huge square area where one can walk and check out the local shops. I have to say that it was a bit trendy with places like H&M but the architecture was appealing. Right next to the train station is the Dom Cathedral where people can walk up to the steeple and get a better view of the Rhine and surrounding areas. I missed out on Stuttgart and Munich. I will save that for my next trip there. Enjoy
