Hello friends! I just experienced an excruciating headache so I'm going to make me some tea. So you know of any holistic method of getting rid of your headache beside popping a pill? Be glad to know. Thanks!

Of course it matters what is causing your headache. Mine come every time the weather changes and I have found that Yoga can help get rid of it. I don't know what moves are the ones that help I just know that after an hour of class most of the time it's gone

Usually, when one has a headache, the primary reason is that the body lacks water therefore pressuring the head to inform you of its need. Before popping a pill, try drinking 2 glasses of water then wait for a few minutes. If possible, take a nap right after. If it still won't go away, then try to have a head and body massage. Taking medication should be the last resort because you don't want your body to become pill dependent. Once your body adjust to a low dosage, it will eventually need a higher one for you to overcome illness and that is not good to your health.

taking a nap is the only other way I know of to help get rid of one.

Try tea with honey and close your eyes and breathe deeply. Sometimes if our blood sugar gets too low, it can give a horrible headache. And if you are very stressed and that brought on the headache, slow deep breathing can help too! Hope it goes away soon!

I had a terrible headache last weekend! I am nursing, so I don't want to take and medicines or even caffeine if I can help it. I know the caffeine in tea or coffee has helped me with headaches in the past. As others have said, taking a nap helps - and that's how I got rid of my headache last weekend. If I can't get sleep right away (like when my kids are awake), I rub my hands to make them warm and then cover my closed eyes with them and keep them there for a while. It doesn't take away the headache, but it helps to soothe me!

The best way (besides Excedrin, of course!) that I get rid of a headache or migrane is to just lay in bed under a couple of blankets in pitch dark and listen to some really relaxing music as low as I can, and just trance out of it. May I suggest some 311? They always seem to do the trick.

Taking a bath, specially if the cause of headache would be the terrible heat helps as well. Taking a rest, or taking a nap is a good thing too.

put lemon on your tea it might help your headache disappear. my wife puts ice on her head when she has an headache for it is always hot in our country that sometimes heat can cause the head ache. she also puts vaporub on her nape when she has an headache. a bath will help too. it all depends on what is the source on why your head is aching. if it is often then you think to havea test if it is your eyes or migrane. hope this helps

i have read from a magazine before that stress and bright light can trigger a migraine. taking this as a guide, i avoided to be stressed and never spend much time at places that is bright and I always turn off the light. i find it effective and do not have to take a pill or massage my head because its already eliminated before it could ever begin. just my two cents.
