I Just finished Feast of Love and I'm Annoyed

I realize that some writers are desperate to get their names out there and writing a film is more profitable than writing a book as long as you have the right contract. However, there are certain things that are beyond the pale. As an artist, I feel you simply shouldn't do certain things. Prior to today, I was a fan of both the movie and the book "Feast of Love," but when I started reading the book I discovered that Harry Ginsberg wasn't really black even though Morgan Freeman played him in a movie. I was wondering why the fact that he was involved in an interracial relationship in the 1950s was never discussed. I chocked it to the movie industry being stupid. Upon reading the book, I was sure to discover a deleted chapter or two that described the Ginsberg relationship in detail. But this detail never came because Harry Ginsberg in the novel wasn't black. There was a black person. She was Bradley's final girlfriend, but the movie made her Italian or something. I'm not the most race-focused person in the world, but I do think that you can't just cast someone in a role that would have created a big controversy back in the day with their relationship without addressing it. I don't know why Baxter, the author, allowed this to be done to his book. I wouldn't have. If they didn't like my book the way it was written, I would have taken it to another studio. Of course, I can talk all ethical now, I'm not staring at a check with more zeroes than I have ever seen. I suppose, as they say, everyone has a price. Still, I think it would have to be a lot of zeroes. What about you?
