Go back to your own childhood. What took you to places beyond your own little world? What inspired you to want to become the seemingly unimaginable: princes, superheroes, warriors? Weren't these big dreams first sparked as you read through the pages of your books? Reading open the gate to higher learning, creative imagination, and greater aspirations. But what can we expect from our future leaders if 20% are non reader and the majority have limited access to learning opportunities.Do you have updated books in the library, do you open it & read? How do you often teach a child to dream & read books?

I remember taking out my bicycle on weekends to get to the nearest comic stand. Sometimes you can buy new ones and sometimes you could rent it. I usually spent half my savings for that week to rent one. I really can't remember how I learned to read but I remember that comics was a big part of the process of me learning it. If I got good grades my mom and dad would bring me to book sales and I could pick 1 or two (we had a tight budget). Anyway til now I like reading and I think that's how I got encouraged with reading. My mom has an extensive collection of paper backs (I was reading tale of two cities when I was in grade four I think) and that also helped. I had a collection of books too, but comics was the best read for me. Too bad the industry of comics fell out of business. I've heard of people who learned how to draw because of comics too.

It's okay to read books & dream about it when they grew up.They need parent guidance to read informative books.
