Warning Signs for Time of Month

Apart from knowing the date (or approximate date) that you will start your periods, are there any warning signs that you look out for? Mine are I get a lot more emotional and cry other silly things, my breasts get sore and tender and I eat a lot more. This is only time that I really crave chocolate. Then of course are the cramps.
