In my opinion selector defeated India by picking the worst squad in the recent past. why dont they pick a squad of atleast 16 members in test series for no:1 spot. dhoni was totally forced to pick players like saha, he was running out of options. virat kholi he replaced dravid well in odis , why dont they pick him in tests too? do you thionk he will be picked for next match? and dinesh karthik and partiv patel both have experiance and best stats than saha then why do they pick saha? will these two be considered for next test?

I agree with you that Kohli could have been tried. I think the problem was that the selectors had picked Rohit, but the freak injury to him meant that Saha played in his place and that disturbed the balance of the side. Also, I think our spin bowling department is poor. They cannot bowl opponents out. I wonder what we plan to do differently for the Kolkatta test as I do not think the impact would be more because of Virat or Kartik, but has to come from the bowlers. When Steyn can bend his back and take a 10fer for the match why can't our bowlers!! That to me is the key. Cheers! Ram

I do not think our bowling is too bad actually. Zaheer is a very good performer especially with the old ball. Ishaant is also a very good bowler. The problem is definitely there in the spin department where we need a leg spinner in the mould of Kumble and fast!! Cheers! Ram

hai, ya steyn was too hot to handle for indians, he showed the pitches dosenot matter for good bowling. bvtu dont expect it from indians, because our bowlers only to fill the team. our seemers and spinners both department is weak, there we dont have the good bench stregth also. but our batting is world class, hope that the return of laxman will get back the balance in the side. really we missed dravid and laxman a lot.

Hey, On the other hand i see this defeat as a sign of our poo bench strenght. Look at australia, they have such good bench strength. Every body can get replaced and they prove their potential. We Indians tend to take our place as granted and thus this problems. We struggled against almost australian A side and now iam not surprised that we are struggling with the south africans. Cheers, Tutul

no i dont belive that our bench strength is poor our selectors made it poor/worst. we had quality players like irfan, partiv, karthik, virat kholi, yusuf, jaffer and many..... but selectors just wanted to play the debutants in serious series. they dont considered the importance of the match or the quality of the opposition players.

Hey again, Well if that was the case, what happened against australia in the one dayer where we lost 4-2. It was almost an Australian A side and we lost so badly. We always falter against quality opposition and we have to look for better replacements. Cheers, Tutul

we were just improving on that time and it was ODI. in ODI we are not the no:1, there still we are improving match by match.and in that series too virat kholi or players of that kind were not picked. there are many players who perform well but most are avoide in slection.just look on IPL it will how much good players india have. and we lost to aus they are class team, like that here also we lost o a no:2 tam not a no:6 or 7 team. so it gives us some relief that we lost only to quality oposition.
