Terri Carlson is a 45 year old divorced Mother of 4 with a life threatening autoimmune disease. The article explains everything she's going through. I'm NOT here to judge her. Actually, I can understand her frustrations!!! I wasn't sure which youtube expressed her feelings best so I included ALL of them. What is a person to do that cannot get insurance??? She can't even get Social Security benefits as she was a stay at home Mom & didn't work outside the home. I cannot even imagine being in her situation. She has to feel so hopeless & frustrated as she watches the childish behavior that has taken over our country. Do you think you could get married just in order to get healthcare & live a seminormal life???

I think that is the wrong reason to get married for, but when you think it about you cant really blame someone for doing that. If it is a neccessity that comes to your health and the health of your family people do things that are out of the norm due to their protective instinct.

I can understand why she has become so desperate!!! She says she won't marry a man she doesn't love. It doesn't sound as if love is what she's looking for!!! This situation makes me VERY thankful Im not walking in her shoes!!!

I normally wouldn't resort to that kind of arrangement.

She NEVER dreamed she'd be in this situation either. You NEVER know what cards life will dump at your feet come tomorrow!!!

I can't say what I would do. I don't believe in getting married for anything but love but I haven't been in her situation and I can't say I wouldn't do the same thing.
As for health care reform, as most of us are apparently satisfied with our insurance maybe we should concentrate on getting people like Mrs. Carlson taken care of. I know there are a lot of those cases and there should be something we can do!

She says she won't get married if she doesn't find love along with the insurance. What are the odds??? I'm not happy with my insurance. I'm glad you're satisfied with yours!!! I know a lady who has a young daughter with a ton of problems. Her husband left her because of the daughter's problems. He refuses to pay child support & he's provided no insurance. After years of hard work & a lot of begging, she finally got the child on Social Security. She met a wonderful man who loved both her & her daughter & got married. As it turned out, he made $100 a year more than SS allowed so the child was dropped from SS. The child's care is over $5,000 per month. The $8.33 per month too much the new husband made does NOT cover the $5,000. So she goes back to SS & asks them what she can do. They told her as long as she's married, she doesn't deserve help. So, she had to get a divorce in order to save her child. We treat our dogs BETTER than that!!! I've NEVER thought that those that are happy with their insurance should lose it, but there HAS to be a way to help those who don't have good insurance. The citizens of Canada & England don't seem to find it a problem with their health care system. I wonder why so many here feel the need to punish the less fortunate??? There by the grace of God goes ANY one of us!!! I think it would be a terrible position to be in to have to choose between the spouse that I loved & my child. NOBODY should have to make that choice!!!
I, too, worry about the type of men she will be blindly meeting. I think that shows how desperate she has become!!!
