Sometimes we get ahead of ourselves and get in trouble by saying more than we should and then when you think about it, it could have been stopped before it got worse. Are you someone who would keep going at it or are you someone who would stop when you realize it's gotten out of hand and just let the other person win?

I'll state my point of view and then just leave it alone. I may go off muttering to myself but am nonconfrontational at this time in my life.

How do you walk away from that and not let it bother you but instead let the other person talk?

I didn't say I wasn't bothered, I just said I control myself enough to walk away without it growing worse. I am in control of me, no one else. Once I am alone I can go over the whole thing by myself in my head and work it out. Believe me I am not always right or wrong.

I would keep going at it. Even if I already made my point, and the other person gets it and agrees, I still keep going at it. It's who I am. I like coming up with example after example to support my theory or point.

When you have finish are there any thoughts with what you may have said to the other person, namely with their feelings?

No. Why would someone's feeling be hurt just because I'm trying to make a point? I don't call them names or put them down while I'm making my point...

thuhuong sometimes I do stop to save a situation from going from bad to worse to really worst.I hate confrontations and fights for one thing, but if this is turning on me and the other person is insulting me as a result I will keep going and make my point or else. I am so tired of having people walk all over me as they think because I have a sweet nature I will not fight back when unfairly accused of anything.

I probably let the other person win far too often. Sometimes you need to speak up for yourself. Just depends on the situation.

True, most of the time, if you let it pass, it doesn't really affect you much and I think some folks rather that you have a say than keep silent. I on the other hand tend to keep silent a lot more than I should as well.
