for me its fine to buy secondhand items or used items as long as it is not personal things that you are buying like shirts, jeans, shoes etc.but if you will buy appliances and gadgets i think its just fine to buy used items.

I think it would be great for everyone to have enough money to purchase everything brand new. But, not all of us have that luxury! All of my son's clothes are secondhand. We get them from friends, consignment shops, Freecycle, Goodwill, and Salvation Army. All of my maternity clothes were from secondhand shops or Freecycle, and most of my regular wardrobe is also from consignment shops. Children grow way too fast, for us to be able to afford brand new clothes every few months. I would still shop secondhand, if I was rich because you save so much money. We also get secondhand toys, books, furniture, videos, and home goods. Pretty much everything. I don't think there is anything wrong with it. They always say "One persons trash is another persons treasure!".

It depends on the condition. I have gotten clothes from a thrift or second hand store that didn't have much wear and tear. But when it comes to furniture, I am leery about getting it used.

No i don't like second-hand things, especialy for clothes or shoes. I guess some people don't mind - there are so many offers for selling old stuf in internet

I think secondhand things can be great. I love shopping at flea markets and resale shops for old glassware, dishes and other household items. You can usually find some pretty interesting and unique pieces that you couldn't find in a store that sold new items.
