Lost Season 4

I have just watched Lost Season 4 and have found it was very exciting to watch however what i didnt like was it was bouncing backwards and forwards through time with each group of people being on the island at different times and then being on the island at tyhe same time. Then they where discussing how they change the fate of the whole island by blowing the island up, now why is that. Isnt that stupid why blow it up, i know its seams good to cancel the whole thing out to make sense of the title LOST but seams a little stupid really. At the end of season 4 they blew the island up, so if the story was true then time as been turned why make a 5th season. Im looking forward to watching the new season but it just seams pointless what are your views?
