Just more proof that the Republican party is full of fiscal faux conservatives. If you are against government spending and then stand in line with your hand out, what would you call that? Please read the store from the Washington Times, http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/feb/09/stimulus-foes-see-value-in-seeking-cash//print/

LOL, does this surprise anyone? This is Washington politics, it isn't about facts, it is all about talking points, and what you can make your side believe. I am sure that many of them on here will defend them because they will say it is their job. It is funny how people who spend more money than we make, are NOW upset because THEY spent to much money. Kind of funny, isn't it?

Putting one'self in debt doesn't compare to spending other's money and putting them in debt.. and the Obama deficit is more huge than imagination can imagine.. far greater then the Bush debt which had 911 and katrina (then the stupid bank threatening to crash after loaning to people w/o jobs, etc)

The things that 0bama is doing is making things worse, not better. You keep touting Paygo, but that is a false illusion. Paygo is riddled with loopholes and ways to violate it's own limitations. Blame Bush all you want... the economy was much better then than it is now, and it wasn't until the democrats took control of congress that the economy got into trouble. So tell me... what part of this budget is 0bama paying for... you surely aren't going to try to argue that it is balanced are you? 0bama thinks that you can spend yourself out of a recession by increasing the deficit and the debt. He is mistaken, and so is anyone else who agrees with that foolish philosophy. This is not caused by Bush... this is all 0bama...

Flower, do you understand that when you pass a spending bill it can take years for the economy to feel it's total effects. You can blame Obama all you want, but economist (you know people that do this for a living) blame much of the budget on Bush because he approved all of the spending when both parties controlled congress, but he NEVER paid for any of it. He had to get rid of Paygo because he wouldn't have been able to pay for both of his wars (I guess that should have meant we shouldn't have fought both at the same time, but that makes sense, something that Bush NEVER did). It took Bush 8 years to make this mess, it is going to take a lot longer than two to clean it up.

This shows what I have been talking about for a few years now. NONE of them know what fiscal responsibility is. All they are doing is fighting over how the money is spent.....none of them are asking the real question....SHOULD THE MONEY BE SPENT AT ALL? None will ask it. None will answer it. They are just fighting over who gets to control who gets the money. Sad but true. Most elected officials on both sides have no clue what it means to actually be fiscally conservative or even fiscally responsible.

Well I think Ron Paul asked the question, but beyond him no one is asking the question.

God Bless Ron Paul. He is one of the few that has any common sense in Washington....unforunately he is treated like a freak by his congress mates instead of appericated for his policies. Washington would be a lot better place if we had more people like him in our government. I sooo wish he would have won the last election....I know..I know...pipe dream. But it still would have been great.

This is the kind of crap that brought about the TEA Party movement. Just because someone is a republican does not mean that they are conervative. However, there is this thought as well... our representatives are there on behalf of our respective states, and for all of the taxes that get diverted to DC, they should get some kind of return. TARP was a bad mistake and should never have happened... and nothing will change until people make sure that the person they vote for is going to actually represent them. Until we start electing people that will fight these crazy ideas and try to reduce government, then nothing will ever change.

It's all about getting re-elected. Both parties want to stay in office as long as possible and bring home the pork for their states is one way to do it. Until we the people make it clear-and mean it-that pork will not be tolerated, that we will not be bribed for votes, it will continue. Utah's Jason Chaffetz campaigned on the platform that he specifically would NOT bring money home from DC to his state. His job, he said, is to represent the people, not raid the treasury. He sleeps on a cot in his office and hasn't sought any pork for Utah. He will probably be re-elected, too! Time to demand more of this kind of man, a true statesman!

Chaffetz might be good or even great, but rare.

I'm a conservative and unfortunately the GOP houses the biggest concentration of my brethren. I do however despise those who have their hands out when the rest of us have our hands in our pockets protecting what we can. I hope there will be an uprising of those who are willing to make it work by sweat than by those who are not willing to work at all.
