In today's world most cell phones are becoming "mini computers", but they are still not as powerful as a real PC. Most phones can only handle a web browser and some flash based apps. A computer on the other hand can handle many things and process them at faster speeds. All in all you can do so much more with a computer compared to a cell phone, if I really got in to it I could end up typing for hours. While a computer may not be AS PORTABLE as a cell, laptops can still be taken places and used just as good as you could us it at home. The computer is the better choice if you're deciding between the two.

you can't compare cellphones and computer in my opinion..because thy are different devices created for different aim!! So computer normally is less portable but it is powerful if you consider that processor, ram, disk space, graphics and so on computer is complete and so you can make a great variety of things... cellphones normally are created to call and mobile communication even if now with smartphones you can surf the ent or have some similar features they are really limited if we compare with normal computer as well!!

Computer is bigger & bulkier than a cell phone. But computer has more powerful processor. Computer has bigger memory capacity. Screens are larger. Cell phones are more portable compare to computers, even one of the small laptops can't really fit into a pocket. Computers can't make a phone call without being tied in some sort of way to internet. Cell phones have shorter start up time compare to computers. Cell phones can perform many things that computers can, mostly in a simpler way but still... Both can have advantages & disadvantages.

i think the big difference is processor, with computer like desk top you can upgrade the processor and memory unlike with mobile you can't do upgrade it's specs..

Now a days with the advancment of technology there really isn't a real clear cut differance between the two. The only differance is that cell phones are an actual phone first and other features are bulit around it. Where as computers have a voice talk feature, but its not the same as a phone (despite efforts to make it so) But, I do find using it to dial out when I can't find my phone does come in handy. But, really a comperson is very difficult considering as how a majority of smart phones now a days work just like mini computers with all the features packed into a phone.

Well, it depends on the person I'd say...The computers are larger, and thus less portable (though the netbooks these days are quite small). Cellphones can call people, and computers can't, unless they have internet calling. But even so, the computer offers much more processing power, and batteries can last quite long, especially if you're carrying around backups. So both have their advantages and disadvantages.
