When my family lived in Southern California, we always had ant problems every summer. It was a huge pain- we had to double seal everything we had in the pantry and never leave pet food in a bowl un attended. We sprinkled baby powder around the perimeters of the kitchen and some rooms, and it helped some to keep the ants at bay.

I find it many ants too, but it always black ants, and it never bite. My mom told me that this kind of ants is a sign for wealth that will come to our home. My mom always connect everything with unreasonable thing. Maybe that's the effect of the tradition or culture in my country. Well, for the red ants that can bite, i ever meet them in my home, and to make them disappear, i always use a kind of special chalk, that have some ingredient that the ants don't like. So i make a line to path where the ants pass, n then in few minutes, the ants will not come to that place anymore.

Yes the black ants don't bite but also I don't think they indicate any sort of lucky charm that will bring wealth to any home. Your mom is very superstitious to believe on such things. May be she had once had a huge amount of wealth in house and that time there were black ants too The chalk thing is good what you mentioned. It really prevents the ants from crossing that path. So one must mark with it all along the window frame to destroy the ant flow.

when it starts to get warm here comes the ants. i have a solution for this. it is a product called terro ant killer. at first, you will see alot of ants coming to get it. they bring it back to there nest and all die. it is the only thing that works for me......

In the winter time we do NOT have any ants that come in. Right now though we have some weird kind of bug that is coming in. Its a nymph stage of something but I dont know what it is going to grow into. Its gross I dont like insects in my house at all! In the summer time we rarely get tiny black ants but we get BIG black carpenter ants ALL the time. I have to make sure every dish is washed and out of the sink because if a dirty dish sits in the sit they file in this trail into my house and into the sink. I spray them with scalding water and rinse them down the drain haha.

The window inside the kitchen do have ants. It keep on appearing even if I already washed them off. I tried to pour dish washing liquid on it and now, I still see them crawling on the window. I still have to look where they were coming from so that I could exterminate them.

Yes thats what I said in my response. Unless and until you find the source of their origin they keep on reappearing if you kill them locally just in your house. But your neighbouring house still has them and few of ants start migrating to your house from there. So, better consult with your surrounding people as well and destroy the main origin. Sometimes it can be from the next society as well.

The little red ants have obviously constructed a nest either in your apartment or in the general vicinity nearby, hence their constant appearance Your best bet is to call in pest control and get them to sort out your ant issue

I remember we have a lot of ants at home a few months ago. But because of the big flood that we have experience last year, they all gone afterward. And i believe this coming summer they will come out again to gather food.

You know, I haven't seen an ant in years! I used to play with them as a small child and I think at times I used to be quite cruel towards them. I live in a one bedroom flat and I haven't seen any small creatures at all which is pretty good. I do respect the common ant though as they are very hard workers. Red ants are the ones that bite and I don't think I would love to have a house or flat full of those critters! I prefer the black ant. I'm guessing that ants love to set up home in warm dark areas, the same as spiders. This may be a contributing factor in relation to your ant problem. You can always purchase some of that ant extermination powder! I would feel sorry for the ants though.Andrew

I think these red ants have built a nest of theirs under your house in the soil and eventually, come to your house by finding pathways! Also, you can the Pest Control anytime you want to kill those ants! Keep your baby girl on the bed or a sofa! Take care of her often! Also, you can spray a repellent like Baygon to kill those ants! I would ask you to call up the Pest Control immediately! My house has ants sometimes in summer!

our house have many ants even termites. ive surrendered to the fact that they will stay numerous. since our lifestyle is semi-slum and theres only me and my grandaunt at home, we simply ignore them with their business. they do follow instructions and go away when being dispersed. one time i made a wrestling match between little spiders vs. the big ants (but they dont bite and are sweet?) its pure entertainment like no other. the other species of ants are dwarf so it makes me feel relaxed because they do not pose any problem.

hi! My house, I mean the house of my parents, because now I live by my cousin, has no ants, because actually we live in a flat, and there are almost never ants. But the house of my grandmother is attacked every summer from thousands of ants and we can handle with them, because they are too many and no preparation could help us to send them away. it is really very unpleasantly!

Yeah, My house is also suffering from the same problem, but the ants always remain limited upto Summers, and they never seen in Winters. May be its due to terrace, by which they easily come in the house. We too have tried different methods to stop them, but all in vein.

Sweety, you have a serious problem that only an exterminator can fix. It certainly sounds like you have a fairly large nest, possibly in your walls. That is why you cannot get rid of them. I guess you could do what my neighbor did, and tear out all your walls to find the nest. lolol. Keep in mind that ants, like all living creatures have a habit of creating more of themselves, and you may have more than one nest going on inside your house someplace that you cannot see. I'm sorry I cannot be of more help and offer some do it yourself remedy, but there is nothing you can do except leave it in the hands of a professional exterminator. They will tell you how they could have come in and how to fix up your house so you will not have any more unwelcome visitors.

Hello marketing friend. I think that ants love sweet stuff. When they smell something sweet, they will come to the house by groups. If the place is found and re-cleaned, they will be gone soon. Could this be the cause, my dear friend?

Seems like your problem has already been resolved. Still I would like to add in that we earlier used to have red ants in our previous flat then we found out the reason was they come up in some nearby area and then they spread out everywhere. The best way to get rid of them would be to attack on their source of origin. If that is destroyed with pest control then the whole ant community will get terminated. Sometimes if you locally kill them and leave their source as it is they will reappear so try to find out source of it like asking your neighbours if they are facing the same problem and try to locate the reason. With this you will get rid of the red ants forever.

I want to share my experience about ants with you. Couple of months ago, i moved to a new house, and the house was not heavy, but have serious problem with ants. One may not see ants moving, but a drop of food at the floor, or a drip of sweet, it would be swarming with ants in just a few minutes. So i decided to take a few days off, and start hunting these ants. I started out with, clearing the furniture, moving it to a room, and start putting food on the floor, and waiting for the ants to come. As soon as i notice them, i wait a few minutes until i can trace their entry point( a tiny hole on the edge of my living room). Then i used paste to cover the hole. Next i would clear all the ants on the floor, and still leaving the foor on the floor, and guess what, there is three other tiny holes in my living room. Did the same, and i moved to all the bedrooms, kitchens, until they literally disappear( for awhile). That's how i did it. Its not that i don't want jut put insecticide into their nest, i prefer for them to move themself before going for the last resort. LOL

you can buy ant baits on the market. use that, and the ants will go away. and clean your house everyday. especially the kitchen cause the ants like to go on food (sweets).

We get ants occasionally. Don't worry, they'll go away in the winter.
