Dedicated hard work, and maybe some talent depending on the area you want to be succesful in ;)

1) Do not be affraid to take risks and make mistakes. 2) If you take a risk and it goes wrong, learn from it so you don't make the same mistake again. 3) Patience, Rome wasn't built in a day and success doesn't happen over night. You need to be prepared to play the long game rather than look for instant gratification.

I think there are more than 3 things a person must do or know to be a success. 1. A Goal, you must know what you want... 2. A plan, without a plan you are bound to fail. 3. Action, without action you will never reach your goal. 4. Belief, You must believe in yourself. 5. Knowledge, Learn all you can about how to reach your goals. 6. Patience, Rome wasn't built in a day and neither will your success be. Never set a goal for yourself that you know you can not reach. Start small then build on that. Always leave a little room for change in a plan if it isn't working for you. Learn what action you need to take to implement your plan If you believe it can happen it will, Study different ways to reach your goal then follow what is best for you Patience, good things come to those who have the patience to do things right the first time.

I don't consider myself successful, so apparently whatever those three things are I appear to lack them, so I'll give three things that hold me back from success: opportunity, perseverance, contacts (people, not lenses).

1. Think differently. 2. Think fast. 3. Do fast.

Knowledge - Dedication - Knowledge I mentioned knowledge twice, the reason for that is you can't be successful without it. It has taken a lot of learning to reach the point I am currently at.
