I always feel like I am getting more for my money when I get extra lead and erasers with my mechanical pencils. Half the time though, I can't find them and just end up buying new pencils anyway! Do you use the replacement lead and erasers or lose them?

Hi macdingolinger I usually buy them in a set, as in with the extra lead and erasers. I have a pencil box special for them so they dont get lost. I'll usually use them, before i lose them :P But most of the time, I'll loose it somewhere along the line. . I end up buying more mechanical pencils. I currently have 3 mechanical pencils which were quite expensive but of good quality. Have a nice day!

Maybe there is a mechanical pencil that has a holder on it so that the extra lead and eraser can be stored within the pencil. That way we would only lose the supplies if we lost the pencil! Which does happen from time to time.

I had a similar experience whenever I utilized a mechanical pencil. I thought I had the lead and the erasers in a safe place. Needless to say, I was more than wrong. The things had the tendency of getting lost. It was more trouble than it was worth most of the time. I just switched to regular pencils and pens after a while. At least, I am able to keep track of those better. They are a nice idea in theory but there can be some frustrating in locating everything.

Maybe I will do that. If I can find my pencil sharpener!
