What features are used meal in soybean?

Soybean uses especially in chinese meal. Meal used in food should be feature. For example peper has pain, lemons are sour. What features are soybean?

I think soybeans are "meh." The taste doesn't bring forth a strong emotion. They are not sweet, or even sour. They are, for the most part, middle of the road. Salt can enhance the overall flavor, but they are still quite pain after that.
