Pet Peeves while driving

I try to act the way I hope others would, especially on the road. If I see someone needs to get over, I'll let them by me. If someone behind me is going much faster than I am, I'll switch lanes. However, when I see some gunning down on me- practically on my bumper- that irritates to a point where I refuse to get over. I hate when people feel like they can push me off the road because I'm in a smaller car.

Several things irritate me when driving, one is those in big trucks who take up both sides of the highway when the law state that they are supposed to be on one side of the road. People who jump in front of you on the highway then slow down also bother me. People who have the nerve to tailgate me all the way home and those who decide to forget that stop lights turn green ever so often while they talk on the phone.

I try to drive in a way that it doesn't annoy or put people in danger. I will let people in if there is enough room and try get out of the way of people I can tell want to go somewhere. But what really annoys me is people that go slow. I'm not talking about a few under I mean people doing 70km in a 100km area. It causes massive lines behind them as you cannot overtake on most of our roads and gets people annoyed. Worse then these people are people that are scared their car is going to fall off the side of the road. By this I mean they see a corner and slow right down to where you have to slam on the brakes to avoid hitting them. Many of the corners they slow down for you could easily do 100km around. What really annoys me is when you get a passing lane and they speed up so you can't get past them.

i am not driving but i can really understand what you are saying... i also hate it when people get too near to our car when my hubby is driving... it is called tail-gating and it is illegal here... the driver who did it can get heavily fined by the police if he/she is caught... it is an unsafe and inconsiderate act and we always have to keep a safe distance with the other car while driving here... take care and have a nice day...

I would have to say the people with their cell phones really tick me off. Just drive and worry about your cell phone later. Texas has now imposed fines for texting while driving and I am thankful for that.

I believe theres karma in driving Vjenkins haha. I used to be one of those drivers, Id tailgate, Id get SO angry when people were in my way, driving slow as I had to get to work and as usual, I was late and had to make time by driving faster. I would cut people off if they were driving slow, Id give them a sign and even shout prayers at them on my way in front of them. Oh I was bad, I was a mean one. Well, I moved to the country and stopped having to commute to the city. Life is much slower in the country. We take time to breathe....but there are newcomers and I can then see myself in them ......yup, INSTANT KARMA!!! Im now being tailgated, Im being cut off and Im being sent prayers to haha.....I dont mind, I dont have to get anywhere fast.........but......I had to get somewhere fast not long ago with my husband having a stroke and it all came back to me.......I made it faster than the police who were trying to catch me, they got stuck in traffic. SO in a way, Im happy I was able to drive aggressively once. No I didnt get any tickets for my reckless driving, no accident, and when I got to the hospital, the cop knew what was going on and he stayed with my car as I just flew in there leaving my purse and the SUV running. HE stood guard. Yes hubby is fine. So now when I see someone being in a hurry, I tend to get out of the way, we never know why they're in a rush. Maybe they're off to the hospital or maybe they had some bad news or maybe they'll lose their jobs if they arent there on time.

Nothing pisses me off more than when women are trying to put their make up on when driving. It causes them to swerve, drive too slow and become an overall hazard to all other drives. I'm can't comprehend why they just don't wait to put the make up once they are stopped at a light or once they are at their destination.

One of my major pet peeves while driving is when people tailgate when I'm already straddling the speed limit. It's oh so very annoying. I don't get why everyone feel the need to push the envelope all the time. Take it easy, and you will indeed get to your desired destination.

I live on Long Island NY and Im ashamed to say we have some of the rudest drivers, our expressway (the LIE)has 3 lanes and in some sections a HOV (high occupancy vehicle) lane as well. The speed limit is 55 but because it is an interstate the police allow you to do 65 which is the state speed limit. Yet most people here do 75/80/85 and even if your in the center lane with two lane for them to pass they get right on your tail and flash their lights behind you as if to say get out of the way, and when you dont and they finally pass you they show you their age as they pass. Some people have been caught in the HOV lane with a dummy in the passenger seat, What's the hurry? They should give themselves more time, leave earlier.

Just a few of many pet peeves while driving... I hate when people cut me off and pull right out in front of me.I am courteous to other drivers. I dont pull out if I know I dont have time to go with the traffic or risk getting hit.I also do not like someone riding my bumper. There are also those bright light drivers at night behind me or coming at me without dimming their lights.

I can't stand when other drivers try to bully you on the road. The bullies get me so mad at times, but whenever I'm on the road driving I try to hold it all in until I reach at home. For me personally, It is hard to concentrate 100% on the road when I am in extreme road rage. My girlfriend is the total opposite. She gets really upset and will curse if anybody were to ever cut her off. I guess everybody handles road bullies differently.
