I have read a lot of crime fiction including John Grisham, Agatha Christie and also the writer of Inspector Morse. I enjoyed all three especially John Grisham's court descriptionns and the pure genius of Agatha Christie's snake-like plot line.

besides those people you have mentioned, i think that Earl Stanley Gardner was also an amazing author of mysteries. he is the gentleman who created perry mason. i love his stories and how they twist and turn and you usually cannot call the murderer til near the end.

You've outlined three of the bestseller writers and I do agree they do write the best crime fiction. But you may also try Harlen Coben, he writes good crime fiction with a lot of twists. I can also cite the authors of Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys. I read a lot of their stuff and I liked it.
