Where I live it's against the law,but I see people do it all the time anyways.I see it as being dangerous,it takes your concentration off the road. When I was a driver I used to pull off the road to talk on mine.I see that people don't care and talk on it while they drive. It really annoys me how they don't listen to that law. What do you think about people talking on the cell phone while they drive?

I do think it's dangerous. I think they even have some studies to back up the idea that it doesn't work. It's simple enough for the other people to get a hands free device so they have no excuse. It bugs me when they use it when they drive, even though it is illegal and I hope they get ticketed for it.

I even think a hands free device it still will be dangerous, because abrain can't focus on doing two different things at once.I think talking distracts the mind from paying attention to what's going on the road.

Hi java09? Regarding to your topic discussion, I think it is still dangerous to talk on a cellphone while driving because your focus are seperate in two, which on the road and to the one who you are talking with. What if theres a car blowing it's horn to give a sign, but because you are using you sense of hearing. You will not notice it and it may cause accident for sure.

of course, a distraction would cause a disaster, for and by you, afecting third people that arent guilty about we wrong actions. in my case, i usually not accept the calls while im driving, or i stop in a permit zone and answer the call. the other option we have is hand free, is cheaper and would save about a tax. i think that when people do this, they dont think about the consecuences they would happen... here is common listen this types of accidents, while driving. we must think about this because is our life, and the life around us. thanks for asling, have a nice day

I think it i very dangerous to talk on the cell phone while driving, because you are not able to concentrate on the road and if something unexpected will happen you will not be able to react. I think that eve talikng on blue tooth is distracting.

I agree and think it is very dangerous to talk on a phone whilst driving, I would also say that doing anything whilst driving which takes your concentration off of the road is dangerous, so that even means talking on a hands free kit. I get annoyed when I see people speeding down motorways with a phone attatched to their ear because they seem to forget that not only are they travelling at a deadly speed but also the risk they are causing to others by doing so.

Its not yet illegal to talk on a cell phone and drive at the same time here, but that doesn't mean that the law hasn't been bounced around. It is however illgel to text and drive. It is of my opinion that texting while driving is much more of a "distraction" then driving and talking is. While some experts might think the danger comes from taking both hands on the wheel, the real threat is when a driver's eyes stray from the road. Because regardless of what may be going through a driver's mind, their eyes are still seeing what's in front of them. their brain is still receiving the images. So if there is something that would cause them to stop then they have the option to hang up the call. Where as texting usually requires a person's gaze to travel to their phone. Now, if the real issue does stem from not keeping hands on the wheel, then standarized vechels should also be recalled, so seriously.... proerities need to be met here.

I agree with you, I think talk on a cell phone takes the concentration out of what you have to be doing at that moment, which is driving, i live in New York, and it is illegal also here, I am not sure how much is the fine, but you can get pull over for that. I get terrify whenever I see my boyfriend trying to talk on the phone, and he take the eyes out of the highway, to be able to dial some phone number, what I also think is even worst, I have seen people sending text messages and driving at the same time, this can cause accidents.

hello, maybe because your concentration/focus of mind while driving is divided into 2 when someone or either you did calling while driving... especially when you try texting it is very dangerous.. but there are calls that are important so what will be the great solution is to buy bluetooth... used for calling..:) happy mylotting. :)

Hello, I think is really dangerous! I do not speak to the cell phone, when i am driving! Many accidents happen, because people do not respect the law.

i hate it when people behave so irresponsibly. driving requires all your attention. and in order to be safe, not only for yourself but also for the people around you, you should give driving your undivided attention. talking on the cellphone is very dangerous when driving. and some people just seem to ignore that they are putting other peoples lives in danger and they just do not care. they still do it. even though talking on the cell phone while driving is now officially illegal.

where i live it is illegal too and i have heard that driving while texting or talking on a cell phone is compared to being drunk over the limit because your reaction time is delayed!

I think people like that should be arrested and have their licenses suspended. They don't care about anyone but themselves. How many of those calls are emergencies that can't wait? Probably about .001%! They are chatting about their social life, shopping, business deals, etc. Nothing that can't wait!! They care nothing about someone they may hit and injure or kill while they're talking on their phone, they won't pull over and take a few moments to complete their call without endangering other people. Talking on cell phones while driving should be illegal everywhere, hands free or not. There should be jail time and license suspension for using a cell phone while driving a vehicle.

Where I live, speaking on the a cell phone, eating or even smoking is illegal whilst driving, as it provides a dangerous distraction that could result in a car crash. Luckily, police are very strict on this sort of thing, and any drivers who pose a threat to others are punished with either points on their license, a fine or even an outright ban

To be honest, talking on a cellphone while driving is actually dangerous. But I don't know why the data on this is not published. Maybe because just feel ashamed admitting that he/she was talking on the phone while driving, if an accident happens. But I think there must be some rule penetrating into it. Because in my place, it seems that people can do anything that they like while driving.

yes its really very dangerous to use cell phones while driving.. u may hear any kind of news over the pone so that u get diverted and lose your concentration... so its recommented very strongly not to use cell phones while driving.. it would be great if they make it a rule..
