This is one of the questions that I will ask when someone is interested in working for us. What would your answer be and why?

It really depends on what job they are applying for. If you're interviewing them for a group project job. The best answer i think should be "I am cooperative" If you're in a one man job i think it should be "I am hard-working or industrious" Simple yet straight to the point.

Very simple and straight to the point. One of the answers to the question I look for is "I can work without supervision". Being we own a lawn care, landscaping and snow removal company that is something I look for in an employee.

Not as good right now due to the economy but business has been picking back up. I am just glad I was able to make it through while others could not and lost everything they worked hard for.

That is why I have stated 2 discussions on interviews. I want to find out what bothers people and make interviews go smoother for them as well as have them feel calm and relaxed while getting asked questions. I believe if people can get comfortable they will be able to answer questions more effectively and increase their chances at a job

My business partner has taught me that is someone comes in for an interview and has all the right answers and answers very quickly they probably have their answers rehearsed and to throw a couple new questions that are not normally asked to see if they a sincere with their answers. What people do not understand though is when you go for an interview there may be a ton of more people going for that same interview. With running a small business we may have only 1 or 2 positions open and over 300 applications and resumes. This makes it very hard on us because we know how the economy is and wish that we did not have to narrow it down to 1 or 2 people. When we get applications in we do like a pre interview to see narrow it down when we do need to fill the position. A blue star on the pre inerview means call and a red star means do not call.

oops didn't answer the question completely. I'm doing very poor I know...my chances are about 2%. I need to answer WHY part. uuuummm Well I'm reliable because I'm a responsible person in my personal life as well as work/employment wise. That's the way I function. I'm hardworking because I like to do a good job and I always try to do my best. soo I guess now I'm told.."ok..ummm...well thanks for answering, we still have more candidates to interview..soooo...we'll call you ok? (hehehehee sit down and get comfortable because the return call will take a loooong time hehehe)

I am very motivated to succeed. I work hard and take pride in what I do, always eager to learn more. There are many other traits that I have that really stand out, but of them all, I think this one would be the most prominent when a person first meets me. The other traits, such as honesty, trustworthiness, compassion.... are seen more when someone gets to know me a little bit more.

That is a very good trait right there. It does take some time to show some other traits because them need to be shown over time but they are noticed more than someone thinks.

I am mister nice guy. I care for other people if they are nice to me. Those who are not nice don't receive my attention. I'm therefore not very assertive, but I don't tolerate just everything.

I agree. That is the first time I have ever heard that answer but it is an answer that caught my attention as well as peaked my interest.

Honesty is a very rewarding trait. This is probably the top ten answer but it is always good to here someone say. I am gonna ask you the next question I will ask someone who gives this answer. What makes you more honest than someone else?
