Did Sheamous become the WWE champ very early?

I feel that Sheamous was given the belt a little too early by WWE. He is a good wrestler, but they had to build his character a little more. That's my view. Tell me your's.

Yes I agree 100 percent. But like another poster said is probably he is such a close friend to triple h that he got the push so quickly instaed of another guy who has been there for years like MVP or matt hardy.

I agree and I think it's sad that happened. If anything it is only going to hurt his career in the long run! I truly believe that ANY wrestler needs to do what every wrestler has had to do before them and work their a$$ off to get a championship title shot! I don't think anyone should just get a belt pretty much handed to them that quickly just because Raw needs a "fresh new face".

Yes it would have been so much better if they had have moved him up slowly and then pushed in maybe a year or so. You are right the belt was pretty much handed to him and he never really earned the title or earned a shot at the title. There are other guys there who have been waiting around way longer and still no push and no belt.

Yes Sheamus must drop the belt. But to whom?

I really don't like the idea of Sheamus having the title, though I am used to the big boys/regulars having it all it all the time. Moving Sheamus from ECW right away and winning the belt from Cena was alittle fast and far fetched. I feel mainly (being a girl) is because I like the tanned, well groomed and nice looking guys having the belt. Sheamus does NOT fit that category. I also feel it is because he is in tight with HBK, Vince McMahon and workout buddy. They all are having fits in the locker rooms about this and putting him against the "popular" guys. I also feel it wasn't fair when they have people like the Miz, MVP, Morrison to go against the title belt. I am sure with the ECW people and switching around people there may be a stopper in here somewhere to get this belt away from Sheamus. Though this is giving a different storyline, I don't see it lasting much longer.

i agree he got the title early but they needed the title on someone new instead of John Cena or Randy Orton and with Sheamus being Triple H's close friend and workout buddy its no wonder why he got such a fast push its the same thing with Drew Mcyintre on smackdown he's good friends with H.b.k thats why he got the ic title so fast instead of waiting for awhile like most normal wrestlers do

Although I believe he won the WWE Championship far too early in my opinion, I admire the fact that he brings fresh air to the otherwise stale championship scene. I would rather him hold it than let Randy Orton or John Cena have it around their waists for the bazillionth time I guarantee though that Seamus would be nowhere near the position he is currently in had he never been Triple H's little work-out buddy, but that's backstage politics for you I guess. It's not what you know, it's WHO you know where WWE is concerned

Sheamus was given the belt a bit early in my opinion. I mean, one month the guy was on ECW. Losing to the likes of Goldust and Shelton Benjamin. Then suddenly he was moved over to RAW. Then in a couple of weeks, he wins a number one contenders match and then he's the champion. WWE have to push new people granted, but Sheamus? The guy wasn't even in ECW for all that long before RAW come to think of it. Still years of the same people on top kind of backed RAW in the corner. There was so much of a gap between the top talent on RAW(Cena, Orton, HHH, and the like) and everyone else, in how popular they would. I thought when M.V.P. moved over, he would have been a big time title contender but he got smacked down pretty quickly. Jack Swagger would have been another good choice for someone new on the top but he was shoved down pretty quickly. Ted DiBiase or the Miz...maybe something could have been done to push them up, for a short time. Although Sheamus was put on top way too soon. I think that might hurt his career in the long run. WWE was backed into the corner, needing a new star on top but I think they just pulled someone who was barely a midcarder on ECW just a couple of months before he went to RAW and threw the belt on him.

Yes! I seriously think he got the belt pretty much handed to him WAAAAYYYYY too early. Most people didn't even know who he was or anything and all of a sudden he's won the championship belt! I could definitely smell the bs on that one and I still can! Their are quite a few much more deserving wrestlers that could have and in fact should have gotten the belt instead of him! (Cena, Triple H, and MVP to name a few).

i think sheamus did get the wwe title earlier than usual but i have to agree as well that this is a better situation than cena holding on to the title and having that rivalry with orton for the nth time. cena-orton is tiring and as exciting as a milk cardboard box. having sheamus, who is another heel, win the belt from cena is refreshing. sheamus keeping the title against orton is also a welcome surprise. i always preferred heel vs heel over hero vs heel and hero vs hero. given the fact thae heel vs heel seldom happens, i just think that this gives wwe a fresher insight but this is not what the fans want. fans always cheer on the hero/face and that is understandable. given the current pg rating of the wwe, it is hard to see wwe push a wrestler who is known more for his dastardly acts than his school boy charms. i think though that putting sheamus on the spot and givign him the belt will do well for the wwe in the long run. i'm hoping to see that raw does to sheamus something similar to what smackdown did with jbl. smackdown threw everyone at him during his title reign, eddie guerrero, big show, undertaker, and the list goes on and jbl held on to that belt like his life depended on it. eventually, jbl became one of the most hated heels and when he finally lost the title to cen, cena immensely benefitted from it and was pushed as one of the faces/superstars in the wwe. let sheamus hold on for the title a bit longer. i'd like to see sheamus retain the title after the elimination chamber ppv and even after wrestlemania. seriously, i'd like to see sheamus go up against the likes of hhh, hbk, kofi kingston, mvp, cody rhodes, and ted dibiase jr. throw in there some wrestlers from the other brand like cm punk, drew mcintyre, batista, and even taker. build up sheamus' character as a heel and when everyone else hates him, make him drop the belt to a deserving up and coming wrestler. i'm going to let you guys figure out who you want that wrestler to be. lol! i think the problem in wwe is the disparity between the perceived talents of the 'superstars' agianst those mid-level wrestlers. i just think that a lot of mid-level wrestlers are not properly utilized and/or developed. 'superstars' on the other hand come up with the same antcis that eventually, fans tire of them and these 'superstars' overstay their welcome in the spotlight. just my 2 cents.

Even I was bit taken aback when I came to know that Sheamous won the WWE championship. He may be the good wrestler but there are many other wrestler that deserves to be champion not him. Until he came champion I did not know him but suddenly he is in the limelight. I think WWE has played a great strategy by handing him title that early in his career.
