Do you have your floors cleaned regularly or just as needed?

I'm gonna have my carpet cleaned soon it really needs a good scrub and steam. I try and vacuum my floors regularly but sometimes vacuuming just isn't enough, so I decided to have it cleaned by one of those cleaning services. anyway do you clean your carpets/hard wood floors regularly or just as needed and do you use your own cleaning products or do you use a cleaning services?

When just needed.. hahaha too lazy to clean my floor ^_^ I'm not sitting or walking barefoot on it though, so if I feel like that floor of mine's need a sweep. I'll go for a general cleaning. ^_^

it is dusty in our place and my wife has asthma so we clean the house regularly. we also have a four year old son adds to the reason why we need to clean up and tiddy everyday. in the house we have this rule clean as you go so we make sure it is tidy all the time. we are only three at home, me my wife and our son so it is easy to tidy things up.

I have hardwood floors so it's not as big of a job as it would be if it were carpet. I did my own floors when I had carpet too. I clean my hardwood every weekend really good but when i had carpet I cleaned cleaned them every four or five months. I used a dirt devil on them every other day though.
