Im just curious what people prefer in watching a movie, is it because of the actor/actress playing on that particular movie? or is it because of the story? i just want to get you ideas. thank you!

I think I watch movies for both. For example, I want to see Valentines Day on Friday because it has so many of the stars that I enjoy watching. But I wanted to see Paranormal Activity because it looked interesting. I suppose it just depends. Sometimes I won't see a movie because of a particular person in the movie that just annoys me! I love the Rocky movies because of the story line and because Sylvester Stallone is awesome! Movies are great in general anyways!

yeah. thatnk you for the response. I also do that. watching the movie because of the people involved or because of the story which is quite interesting. or somehow both.

I'm mostly a story girl. Although, I must admit that I will go see just about anything with Keanu Reeves, Diane Keaton, or Margaret Cho. Those three people very rarely let me down because they don't take (for the most part) bad scripts. My favorite thing is finding a hidden gem in the movie store. Something that no one else picked that suits my interest at the moment.

the actors involved is the sole reason i watch a movie. "knowing" actors choose the roles they would portray. they aren't the type who would do a movie to just get a job either because they are picky or they are way past that. so, you know that quality is there once you choose to watch a film because of celebrated and well-respected actors involved.

Well I first find out who is in the movie then read what the movie is about. Now if I like the stars and the movie sounds like a good story, then I want to see it. Now if I hear about a movie with stars I like but I don't think the storyline is good I will avoid it. However, there are times when I hear about a good movie and don't no or like certain actors or actresses but I will still want to see it because its a good storyline.

Frankly, i will watch a particular movie because of the actor or actress. AS most of the time, the actor/actress maybe good in acting but the storyline of the movie may be lousy. So likely, i will go for story line of the movie. I like historical movie most. As it based on the history of the particular event. so i can remember better than just reading a book:) Cheers

well it depends sometimes i just watch because the story was interesting no matter who the actors or actresses are. On the other hand i love to watch movies which stars Brad Pitt and angelina jolie :)

I watch movies for the stories. Sometimes If I'm not sure whether or not I want to see a movie I'll check to see who is in it and decide from there. But, the only movies I've watched solely because of actors/actresses in them are Jim Carrey's movies.

Both, and if a movie has actors I like, and a storyline that looks good, then I am definitely going to be seeing that in the theater. This, unfortunately, has led to seeing some really dumb movies, but for the most part it works for me. Oh (and I'm not sure of the name of the movie), but there is a movie coming out tomorrow about greek gods (or something) that I had no intention of seeing, till I saw a trailer and the movie has Pierce Brosnan and Sean Bean! I am so there!
