Can anyone tell me what general health supplements one should take?

I'm trying to get more healthy. I've joined a gym, I'm working with a personal trainer, and I'm trying to shed a little of this extra weight that I've put on over the years. I think that if I could lose 20 pounds I would be at my ideal weight. That's not too much, right? But I'm trying to eat healthier and take vitamins and stuff, too. The problem is I'm not sure which ones I should be taking or what they do or anything. I was looking through the inventory of a local shop ( http://www.pharmas.co.uk/ ) and there is literally SO MUCH STUFF and I don't know which vitamins I should take, or what supplements I might need, or what. Is there a place where I can learn who needs what, or can I go to the doctor and get a blood test that will say like, you are deficient in Vitamin C or something and then I'll know what I need to take? Thanks!

I don't thhink you really need to take supplements if you are following a sensible diet and exercise plan.

Since you have joined the gym and have a regular workout there is no need to take vitamins. Keep exercising and you will be fit in no time. Actually it may take some time before you lose 20 pounds but be firm and stick to your workout and diet. If you still want to take vitamins it is best to consult your doctor.
