hi,all..you know tomorrow night is the chinese new year festival eve, the most important festival for family reunion. but i live abroad and alone. This morning when i was on the way to my office i saw some people carried their luggage and went to the airport to go back china. i really miss my family my parents, really admire them. in chinese there is a famous saying says that" you will miss your family more seriously during festivals" ...so i forced myself to join one of my colleague's home in order not to spend it alone.. a little bit sad.. how will you do?

it is lonely spending festivals when you are alone.if that does happen, rather than sulking and bumming around the house,I'll go out.I'll go hang out with friends.I'll go shopping.I'll dine and treat myself to a fine restaurant.I would do something fun and creative rather than be miserable.

but how if all of your friends need to join their own families reunion..chinese new year festival is similar to Christmas in western country. it's all for family..luckly i have a colleague who also lives alone. i will go her home this night.:)

I am really sorry to hear that. I quite understand how you feel. Being alone in a foreign country is not easy, especially when it is festival in your own country. You will think of your relatives, your friends, your parents, and you will feel even more lonely. Try to do something else and distract your feelings.

yes..i spent everyday during chinese year with friends..and in the country there are only four-day-holiday...so i just enjoyed it as a long weekend instead of thinking it as an important festival...then i felt quite ok...:) thanks. and happy chinese new year.
