TODAY!! OH MY GGGAAAWWWWDDDDD!!!!!!!!!! My heart is just shattered into a thousand tiny pieces over this news and I found out from a total stranger at my Doctor's office today; GOOD GRIEF!! I was praying he was wrong, I hadn't heard a thing about Phil and here I was thinking that they all were back safe and sound again by now; I've not been on ( myspace ) or nothing lately and then I hear of this horrible horrible news! Captain Phil was only 53, we almost lost him before; I was amazed he had survived the other ordeal he had went through, Oh My God!! Here is an article if anyone that is a fan of the show, "Deadliest Catch" on the Discovery Channel you can see/read it here; http://dsc.discovery.com/fansites/deadliestcatch/phil-harris/ THIS IS NOT A REFERRAL LINK BUT A LINK ABOUT A GREAT MAN!!! Captain Phil was my favorite on the Show, there was just "something" about this sea-faring, hard-a$$ that drew me in...Loved his eyes, his throaty voice, I knew when I got "hooked" on this show and got so "into" each of the guys on there my biggest fear was always the damn ship would go down, thankfully not so, but I really really did like Captain Phil, his crew, his two sons on there Josh, and Jake aka "ding and Dong" as Phil referred to them many times; God I'm gonna miss him and now I am dreading to watch the "new season" when it starts up, I just don't know if I can do it now or not??? I still love the others on there too but for me Captain Phil was IT BABY!!!! Rest in Peace now dear Phil, Rest in peace you are going to be sadly missed by so many fans, friends, loyal family, OMG!! For Josh and Jake My heartfelt prayers go out to you, I'm late in the game here but I sincerely mean them; Your Father was an "original" and there will never be another like him; Good Luck to you both and long live the F/V CORNELIA MARIE, Captain Phil will still be at the "helm" there in "Spirit" I know he will; I've cried so much I can't even muster up a "tear" now...but I know I will again and again and again; {{Love ya Phil}} I would have given anything to have met you in person at the meet and greets you all do for the many fans out there; Now I'll never get that chance!

Well, I'm very sorry to learn about this. I just read the link you added. I'm glad it wasn't a job injury, but at the same time, I don't know that a stroke is any easier to deal with on the family. They had hope until there was none. I know you loved this show - even dedicating a Squidoo page to it. Hopefully, the show will go on because it was about the industry more than the personalities who everyone has come to know and identify with. I feel bad for his boys and other family members.

Hey Jerz; Yeah I'm sorry too; it breaks my heart and I'm still very very upset over it; It was related as to what had happened to Phil last season when he had a blood clot pass through his heart into his lungs, somehow by God's Grace he had survived that; and even though he wasn't able to start out with King Crab Season, he did manage to get on by the time Ophillo Crab had started back in January of 2008; The new shows/season of King Crab 2009 hasn't been on air yet and they were just finishing unloading the Ophillo 2010 January 30, 2010: Phil Harris suffered a stroke while in port off-loading from the F/V Cornelia Marie. He has been transported to a medical facility and is receiving the best care possible. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and we will make more information available as we know it. I've been reading and catching up (trying too) on all the myspace pages and other sites now It seems The Discovery Channel has some decisions to make as to whether or not include this part of Phil's passing away , it will be hard to watch but yet at the same time I hope they do include it especially for the many who may not have internet or know what has happened you know? More than likely I will be making another squidoo page or something about Phil, I love the show, of course, I've gotten so involved in it but right now I'm just too depressed; I did hear on the Discovery Channel that they will be airing a Marathon this Saturday to Honor Phil so you know I'm gonna be glued to the TV...Yep reruns of course but I don't care. He was one of a kind!! One in a Million!
