Apparently to some the term homosexual does not equate gay or lesbian. A poll taken by CBS/New York Times shows that 70% of Americans support allow gay men and lesbians to serve in the military. When asked about homosexuals the number drops to 59%. So to 11% of those poll gays and lesbians can serve just not homosexuals. This also reflexes when ask about being open in the military. http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2010/02/11/politics/politicalhotsheet/entry6198284.shtml

I do not support homosexuals in the military at all. It does not matter whether the term is homosexual, gay, or lesbian... because it all describes the exact same unnatural act, preference and behavior. All this article shows is that most people have no idea what they are talking about in the first place. These polls are meaningless anyhow.

America is getting more and more illiterate as they get more politically correct. Seems the more they watch the idiot box, the dumber they get. I'm all for homosexuals in the military. If they are brave enough to die for our country, they should be out and proud of it.

There is a difference between tolerance and acceptance. If the people who join the military do it for the right reasons then I have no problem. If its for political reasons I got a big problem.

OMG do you think this just applies to homosexuals??? ( doing it for the right reason?) Many are in the military for stability, school. which is neither the right reason. The reason you join the military is to fight for the rights and liberties that we as a country believe in. You have to be selfish and know that your country comes before your own life. I think most join the military more for the monetary/school reason more than anything else no matter what your gender or secual preferance is.

This is one of those *headdeskfacepalm* moments. Have people gotten so dumb that they don't realize that gays and lesbians ARE homosexuals? It makes me want to crawl under a rock and cry for the human race.

To ask a legit question here, is it the SAME people who are asked about both of them. The statistical difference could be just a margin of error thing.

Obviously, neither do I, but it would be a reasonable explanation for this statistical abnormality.

Actually I think those who do not support homosexuals but will allow just gays and lesbians in the military should go back to school, and learn English, because obviously they were gazing out of the window when the teacher told them to "get out your thesaurus and your dictionary." Besides, if someone prefers to make love to the same gender as he or she and keeps quiet about it, they are allowed in the military, but they would probably make sure they do not get in a position where they would hit on someone. Now if somoene shouts out that he or she is gay or a lesbian or a homosexual, well they should not join because they screamed out their preference and that anyone of the same gender as they are should watch out. So anyone who is a homosexual and that includes 'gays and lesbians' should not be allowed in the military if he or she says he is. If someone finds out if a person is a homosexual, the homosexual guy could request a transfer where he will not poise danger to his comrades. I am thinking if there were a major war and they needed as many men in the army as possible.

Oh the stupidity of people on a whole still amazes me. I wonder how they really survive in this world. That is probably part of the reason the world is in the state its in and continues to be in.
