well its a good news for all cricket fans, but do you think the introduction of cricket in the twenty- twenty format in the big platform of games (olympics) will decrease the interest on TEST and ODIs. i think it will weaken the test matches and ODIS, because now the world is going to know cricket as 20 over game, most countries otherthan the 10-12 countries will not be much aware about the test and odis. and certainly T20 will grab a huge response from the world of sports if its included in olympics. so it will reduce the interest towards the master game of cricket, the TEST cricket. dont you feel so?

basically if you see, only T20 format will be benefiting from cricket in Olympics. This will attract new countries to cricket. Actually we don't even know if TEST and ODI cricket will be breathing during the end of this decade. But if they do...anything can happen. Popularity of ODI and Test cricket may increase if there's an overdose of T20 by then.

ya know t20 is gaining more popularity, but i belive test is the real form of cricket, if test and odis are going to be hurted due to including of t20 in olympics then its not fair.

well yeah...and seriously, I don't see test cricket exist in 2020, at least in the sub-continent.

true...but you can't help it. New nations will only get a glimpse of cricket. That glimpse will be of T20 only. We already see decreasing popularity and reduce in viewership of Test cricket. All I would say is it's best to wait for another 3-4 years before ICC signs up cricket for Olympics.

Its good news that cricket is being introduced in the Olympics but what i feel is that the cricket world cup will be severely affected. People have already moved from ODIs and Tests to T20s since its introduction and now the matters will get worse. But to me this format is awesome and it being in the Olympics just makes it better.

ya, thats what i mean, so you too belive that the introduction of cricket in olympics will affect the test and odi format adversely. so do you fell that ICC is silently stoping the test cricket?

No i don't think ICC will do that as test matches are the soul of original cricket but yes they are getting affected.

Definitely not !!!! T20 is jst another form of cricket like test and one dayers you have to enjoy t 20 as another form and not to be treated as a version that would adversely affect the sport of cricket. even t20 gets a huge response from the crowd as well.i dont think it will reduce the interest for test match. Viewers interested in tests would definitely watch tests for sure

how can you say that it does not affect adversely, the new nations who doesnt know what cricket is will become familiar to t20 straight away. they will not be known of the test or odi formats, so i think it is a serious hit back for tests and odis.

es, I do think that over-interest and hype to the new format - T20 Cricket will indeed reduce the interest towards the master of the game - TEST and the ODIs! The players have to be tested in a Test Match but now they are directly tested in a T20!!! Also, big hitting matters and not endurance! Where is cricket going towards?
