I've never really gotten all that fired up about the oympics but this year it takes place where I live, Canada. So I watched the opening ceremonies and I thought they were pretty cool. The coolest part I thought was the fact that it was being broadcast live to all the world. Did u see the ceremonies? what did you think?

I know of a few people who were watching the ceremonies in BC. When I was watching them I kept thinking to myself that if the show looked that amazing from my livingroom than it must have been breathtaking live.

Pretty cool ceremony. The first act with the snowboarder flying through the Olympic rings was a great touch. If not for the minor glitch of the one column not rising up because of hydraulic problems, it would have been perfect. It was also nice to see Steve Nash as one of the few who lit up the indoor cauldron. It was great to see Gretzky light up the outdoor cauldron too.

lolz to the column not rising, it's just like us canadians to have a major technical difficulty and just remain calm and pleasant the whole time.

As huge as that performance was, it is quite amazing they didn't have more glitches. One glitch is not too bad, just happened to be a big one.

yeah youre right. We Canadians put on quite a show, gotta admit it. I really loved how all of them lit the torch, it felt so team orriented.

Hi Allie, I did watch the opening ceremonies of this years Winter Olympics and I thought the show was fabulous! Very Spectacular and Well done! There were a few major highlights for me. I am glad that Canada honored our native Canadians in the show as K.D. Lang singing hallelujah was my favorite! from one Canuck to another, Enjoy the games!

I am in Canada as well. I don't think I have really ever watched an Opening Ceremonies in its entirety, but I watched last night. Our whole family watched and I've got to say we were totally wowed. To think that all that stuff was done with just lights. Totally awesome. I can't even begin to pick a favourite part - the breaking up of the ice, the whales, the big polar bear, the skiers and snowboarders on wires "flying" down the mountain. It was simply spectacular, and a great Canadian history lesson for the world. I am interested to know how people from other countries felt about it. I'm pretty sure Canadians were wowed.

I've never watched a whole one either but last night I sat riveted. My man who watched with me over the phone (yes the whole time I had a phone pressed to my ear.) kept saying how amazing the stage looked as it morphed and changed. I loved how they went through all the seasons and thought that fall looked especially beautiful.

I saw a little bit of the opening ceremonies because I don't have cable anymore. I missed about half, but I liked what I saw. I thought it was very Canadian which I guess is what opening ceremonies are supposed to be, reflective of the country they are in. I especially liked the spoken word poet, but this may be because I am a spoken word poet myself.

I thought Canada did a beautiful job with the opening ceremonies. The special effects were great. It actually brought me to tears a few times. It was breath taking. Its a shame we had to start off with the guy from Georgia dying this morning. Its definitely not a good way to start off the Olympics. I'm looking forward to watching tomorrow.

Canada did a great job this year. Now it's time to bring on the snowboarding, hockey and curling!
