Eagles Offer Quarterback Kevin Kolb Contract Extension Is This the End of McNabb

Reports out of Philly, indicate the Eagles have offered 4th year quarterback, Kevin Kolb a contract extension. If that turns out to be true, it would appear Kolb is the Eagles quarterback of the future. Donovan McNabb has one year left on his contract, and the Eagles could let him start the 2010 season with Kolb waiting in the wings. It will be strange to see a quarterback other than Donovan McNabb QB this team, but the time is coming sooner rather then later.

If the Eagles are smart, they deal McNabb for a draft pick. While he's still a quality QB, it's become clear that they aren't going to win a title with him leading this team. Maybe it's time to blow this team up and start over - get what you can for McNabb (I'd guess either Arizona or Minny if Favre does retire for real this time), and rebuild through the draft. With Kolb, McCoy, and DeSean Jackson, and Jeremy Maclin, they have something to build on offensively. A good draft this year, and they could become a contender sooner rather than later.
