I have some plants in my house, I take care of them daily and water them . They grewed well. On one fine day I felt that when I went to water them they move their leaves happily. And when I reach them I felt that they r happy to see me. I told to my husband after his arrival from his office work, he didn't belive, the next day I showed to him, he felt happy. He started to water them insted of me, he started to feel the same. After some days, a situation arraised where me and my husband will not be able to water the plants for one month, I felt bad and told my security guard to take care of them more than 10-15 time and even my husband told the security guard the same before leaving. After our arrival I went to my plant first and shocked to see one of my plant doesn't even have one leaf, I was very upset, and the rest of the plants were very dull and dusty, the soil was very dry and cracked. I questioned the guard he told, I put some medicine(lie). When I started talking care of them and talk to them("please don't die, please blossom") and said "sorry my friends", every plant responded thru their tiny greeeeeeeeeeeen leaves the next morning saying "good morning" to me and my husband. Hey friends do u ever had such experience? share with me. If u don't, try to know the happines in loving plants and they will love you and respond you.

hi Hazelrose, I too love orchids. I complete agree with you. In my childhood I used to have a lesson named "Trees". The lesson tells us about the Trees supporting humans in several ways, forgiving humans errors, supporting earth's atmosphere and saving us from pollution. I feel that they are a complete example of forgivingness. There r many things to be learnt from them. Happy orchids.

well yes I think it really works. Well according to science, Plants need CO2 to grow and when you talk to a plant you breath on it, giving it an extra infusion of CO2. However for this to have any real effect on your plant, you have to spend several hours a day conversing with it in close quarters.

hi ravi40, you may be wright according to co2. But I don't spent much time near my plants, I visit them once in the morning and pour some water to them, again in the evening I visit once and stay for 5-10 minutes. But I feel happy in watching them and express my feeling out to them. And our atmosphere contains much co2 than needed, So due to this reason also plants may grow well. Anyway go green my friend. Let's be a part in saving our earth.

Unfortunately I don't have much time to take care of plants anymore. I had a few that sat outside my door with pretty flowers and the winter freeze killed most of them.

i dont have plants at home and do not have the space either to have them . but i have read about many researchs that plants respond to human gestures. like they show gud growth when u r talking to them . the best example is to play a music in front of the plants for a few weeks . results will show that they had better growth than without the music .

Personally I do not talk to my plants. Keep doing it though because they will grow better. In high school science we did an experiment where we talked to some plants and not to others. The plants that were talked to grew much better because they received higher concentrations of carbon dioxide needed for growth from our exhalations.

I think that some people would find this ridiculous whilst others would find it perfectly reasonable! I like the idea of talking to plants as I believe in the idea that everything is alive in some way or another and it's all about energy. I think watching a plant grow is very nice and very therapeutic as well! I don't have any plants in my one bedroom flat but I would like to purchase at least one I think. I'm sure that the plant has feelings! If you don't water it the plant will die so it has to be alive in some form or another. I think the same way about other things I have whether it be my exercise machines or my bikes. I tell them how grateful I am to have them and they always seem to work better as a result. This is a good thing to do I think! Andrew

hi AndrewFreyne, I appericiate your thought, have atleast one plant and be apart of supporting good environment. And you surely feel happy when u see your plant growing. It can be only felt, I mean I can't explain in words. They make me feel calm, pleasent and happy. Go green friend.

Chilean garden in October - I have planted all these plants, mostly from cuttings.
I know what you mean. I also love my plants and they even understand when I cant give them all the care they want. But the love is there. I read somewhere that at a lab, they had some bunnisfor experiments. They were all born the same day but they were in two different places. They found odd that the bunnies in one place were bigger, stronger and with better hair than the others. They started to check on that: they were supposed to be absolutly identical. They found that the only different thing was that at one place they had hired a sudent to feed the bunnies. He fed them but also talked to them and caressed them while they were eating. THAT was the whole difference. I know we must eat and thus we must kill as the rest of the animals. But it is important to know that we don´t have to do more damage that what is necesary and care for the rest of the planet. Take care. I´m enclosing a picture of part of my garden in Spring.

I don't know whether plants can understand human talk but I know one thing. Have you ever noticed about the plants living in the surroundings which have the presence of human beings ? They grow faster and stronger than other plants of the same age. I have noticed it in many orchards where trees standing beside the way along people walk, grow stronger and faster than the other trees of the same age. You can see this for yourself in any orchards.
