After several months of planning on buying a new monitor i finally have bought the monitor i wanted. It is 18.5 inches monitor, its samsung sync master. beautiful screen. i am really amazed. my first one was a crt monitor only which died on me. and this new monitor is a wide screen. and it is so beautiful and it is good for watching dvd movies according to the manual. and i am loving it. though the screen is so bright it does not hurt my eyes. and most specially it is not taking too much space on my very small table unlike my monitor taking all of my small table space. but with this lcd monitor i can still have space to place my keyboard in front of my monitor. it only cost $147. wonderful. it is all that i can say. really awesome for me. so i am planning to upgrade my slow cpu which is just Pentium V with low memory and disk space. so to match with my new monitor. so i am enjoying finally my internet time. every second seems wonderful experience.

Hi Sweets Sounds like you got it for a decent price. I'm happy for you that you got it. My son just bought a huge tv that functions as a monitor as well. It is amazing. xoxoxoxoxo

that would be expensive than just a lcd computer monitor. anyawys, there is already tv tuner for computer monitors that are being sold. i can just buy that if in case i am interested to use my monitor as a tv. but i don't plan to buy though cause i like to keep my monitor for computer use only.

I am still planning to buy one. At first I was more into to buy a plasma Tv, after that a LCD, but right now I am reading many arcticles about LED TVs, which I tought it was interesting to analyze too...

It is good that you have chosen the samsung brand of your new LCD. It is quite reliable as I have been using the same brand for two years now. I bought mine quite expensive as LCD was quite new in the market when I purchased it.

yeah thankfully my crt monitor was still functioning those times when LCD monitor were still expensives. and now that i can't use my CRT monitor because i could hardly see the picture and the words, the price of LCD has dropped down significantly and it is very affordable compared to before. it is really great as gadgets become more affordable as time goes by.

You got a great price for the LCD screen. And it has great quality. Wow. I am looking to change my cpu as well. I want to upgrade to at least a pentium4 dual core processor or even a quad core. I know if I have any one of those babies I won't have to upgrade for awhile.

i like dual core processor too. is core 2 duo different dual core. anyways, isnt it if you have dual core you can't have pentium any more cause they are both processor. it may cost me some money but it is worth i think the upgrade. i will save money for it.

I think an LCD monitor is always better looking than the traditional cathode ray tube monitor. I do like the fact that it gives you a lot of space on your desktop, I'm able to place other things on my desktop now including a coffee mat! I think the graphics tend to be better as well and there's more performance in terms of resolution settings. Still, I try to take a break away from the monitor and give my eyes a well needed rest. That's great with you getting a new LCD monitor for your computer. Actually, I was also planning to get a new LCD monitor but I have decided to buy a PSP instead of that and will later buy a new laptop with bigger configurations so that it will run applications till some more years to come by with latest technologies!!

Good for you, I planning to buy one too. LCD monitors as you said, are space-saving, CRT monitors sometimes ate a lot of space of your computer table because its bulky and big that you don't know where to place your keyboard or mouse. Although CRT monitors are that big, I still love my 5 year old CRT monitor. I don't have that space problem for my keyboard because the computer table I have has a sliding slot for keyboard only and enough space where I can navigate with my mouse.

Mine is a flat screen also, about 2 1/2 years old. I like it a whole lot better than the big, fat one that is on my desk at work. It's a Dell and so far it has worked really well...

Congratulation to you, Hotsummer, for finally able to get your new LCD monitor. Well, i think the price really worth it since the monitor is wide and good for watching dvd movies as well. Last year, when i bought my monitor, i also preferred LCD monitor since it don't take much space and i still able to adorned quite a few more things on my table. So, what i can say is, i really like my LCD monitor as well, i am buying Acer brand monitor. Because it really gives me more space to do my daily matters. Well, i think if you have the budget, it's better to buy new cpu since i before ever upgraded my old cpu and it didn't last long. It easily goes jam and crashed, so at last i decided to buy a new cpu with my monitor, as well.
