Is Cupid Blind?

They say that love is blind; does that mean that so is Cupid? Would be kind of dangerous flying around, shooting arrows at people without the gift of sight! Anyway, I really don't agree with the whole idea of love being blind; possibly just near-sighted though. Some people rush into relationships because they are lonely and don't realize just who the other person really is. This isn't being blind; instead, just the closing of eyes. So, I say this means love (and Cupid) isn't blind, just impatient and possibly just needs glasses! O.k. You probably think that I'm a cynic. Not so; I just don't want to be fooled into make-believing my way into loving someone who isn't going to look the same later down the road. That's called settling!

I think Cupid knows what he's doing.he is matching people that he believes are compatible.what happens is,people are stubborn.people will get into a relationship because they fell pressured or ashamed of being dateless.or,people will get into a relationship with someone whom they know they aren't compatible with,but will do so to avoid being left out with their married friends.

Perhaps you are right about people getting in to relationships for the wrong reasons. I, on the other hand, always seem to get the short end of the stick in a relationship not because I'm trying fit in with some "couples crowd", but rather seem to go out with people that pretend to be somebody that they're not. Then after a while, I find out they were somebody else completely! I guess I've just got bad luck when it comes to romance. I'll probably be 98 years old still looking for Mrs. Right in a nursing home some where! Hope not though, it's kinda hard to dance when you need a walker and/or a cane:P

I don't think the theory is that Cupid is blind, just that the people who are hit by his arrows are blinded by love. So maybe it's the arrows that are blinding, not that the shooter is actually blind.
Being legally blind myself, I can tell you that playing darts is dangerous, and I do that on my feet, standing in one place. I coudln't imagine FLYING this way. haha
But I agree with you about love. I think that lust is blind, but love is a real eye-opener. :)
