What to see in London?

Hello! I want to spend two or three days in London, maybe a week end. I have never been in this town, so I don't know what are the best monuments to visit (museums, cathedrals, squares...) or places to see, for example famous streets. I would spend a few days not only running everywhere, but also relaxing and going around without programmed visits. What do you think about this? Is it possible to see London in few days? I'd like to know your experiences, your trips, the places you loved or hated. Thank you very much!

There's so much to see and do that you couldn't possibly do it all in one day. I think the London Eye is great, but like someone else said, it is pricey and not worth it if it's foggy. I say you should definitely see Big Ben and Tower Bridge. Maybe even London Bridge at night as I hear it's lit up at night. I missed out on that. And maybe Buckingham Palace, but do your research and try to find out when the changing of the guard is happening and try to catch that. If you're an Arsenal fan, you could get a tour of Emirates Stadium. LOL Oh, and I say check out Piccadilly Square, too. There was nothing I hated (other than being in the Underground during rush hour. UGH!), but it was kind of fun getting the experience. If you like to party at night and enjoy 80s music, check out Reflex. Oh! And if you love all types of music, check out the British Music Experience at O2. It costs money, but I loved it. That's all I can think of right now. I hope you have a good time!

LOL! I don't know about that. Maybe show family and/or friends or something what I saw and what I can remember. Not sure if I can remember HOW I got there, though. Meaning, what stops to get off at, what line(s) to take, etc.

sure you can visit london in a few days but you'll not see everything about this marvelous city, i think that london is one of the best city in the world, so ancient, so full of mystery and ancient streets, houses, places. I've never been in london too, but o think taht monumets like the Big Ben, The Tower of London, The Tower Bridge needs to be visited. Try to visit also trafalgar square, it's an important part of london. Buy me some gifts there :)

I would recommend Camden market they have some great stalls there. I would also recommend the Natural History museum and the Science museum they are both free entry and are close to each other. They have some great displays there although I have been to both of them about three times now and still have not manage to get to all the floors yet. Or you could try Trafalgar square where the fountains are. Or if you are a bit of a royalist you could go and see Buckingham place. I think that you would need more than two or three days to see the sights of London. Whatever you chose I hope that you have a great time and enjoy your trip.

I don't think you could see everything in a life-time, so there's a lot to choose from :-) Of the most famous tourist attractions, my favourites are Tower of London and the London Eye. The Tower has lot of interesting exhibition and buildings, and the London Eye gives you a really good view of London. Both are quite pricey, and one foggy day the Eye isn't worth the price as you don't really get a view. British museum is also good, especially if you don't go for seeing everything. It's huge, so if you go, figure out what interests you most. If you don't see any special exhibition, it's for free, which is great. For hanging out and looking in weird shops I really like Camden town. I'm not really a shopper, but it's so much stuff there that it is impossible to not find something to look at or buy.
