A vegetarian is a person who does not consume anything that contains meat or animal products. in my view, people stop eating meat for spiritual purposes or their believe. any mylotter vegetarian and why you decide become vegetarian?

It need not always be religious; I know of many people -esp. in the medical or related field, who, after going thru' medical schools have into turned vegetarians, as they probably realised the hurt the animal goes through. Then there may be like me, though not much of a non-vegetarian earlier, became a non- vegetarian during my college days as I was studying in Europe and could not get decent ( good for my taste) vegetarian food, specially in the cold winter time, and so started eating non-veg, so much so that after eating it everyday for many years got fed up of it and did not touch it for many years and now am not so enamoured by it either. and moreover when there is good veg available why eat something which has been killed?? So there could be various reasons for each

This is because they are watching their weight.... They believe and have proven that eating vegetables is a very good way of losing weight.. my unlce lost weight because he preferred eating vegetables.. he doesn't even eat rice.. just vegies..

I think one of the main reason why a person goes vegetarian is because they wanted to lose some weight. Second best reason is that because they wanted to eat healthy.

That's true! For most, it is of spiritual reasons but for some, it is of health issues. The problem with vegetarians is that they don't get much nutrition as compared to those who eat some meat. Vitamin intake is recommended to supplement what they don't get from the food they eat
