Hi Mylotters! Valentines might be over but I still want to talk about LOVE :D I noticed when we get into a relationship, we create a special pet name for each other. My bofyriend and I called each other "honey" and he sometimes calls me his "princess." How about you? Share me your name of endearment with your special someone and the story behind it ;)

My boyfriend and I used to call each other "ga" which is the shortcut for the word "pangga". It is a dialect in our country which means my love. Now that we are married and have a baby, he calls me "mi" as shortcut for mommy and i call him "di" as a shortcut for daddy.

I'm very familiar to the term, "ga" or pangga coz I'm also a filipina. A friend of mine actually has the same pet name for her ex-lover. And most filipino married couples also has the same terms of endearment like "Mi and Di" ;) Thanks for sharing!

"hubby" and "wifey" brought a new fad in referring to husband and wife. I find it cute and endearing! ;) "dalling" is a unique term, it's derived from "darling" I assume? Oh well, I learned something today. Thanks for sharing!

We call each other "Hane". I'm not really sure where it started or how. hehehe. I think I called him hon first, but that was what his famous ex used to call him, so I changed it to hane, it's like honey but more tagalog. hahahaha. anyway, I read somewhere that Hane in japanese means wind. So atleast it means something nice, like the wind beneath my wings kinda thing.

Hehehehe. I really like Hane more compared to Honey, atleast Hane has a little kind of personal touch, and it sounds more pinoy. hahahha.

well, that's unique ;) I know we don't want to associate a name if it is used by his ex-flame, it just feels uncomfortable, right? So at least your term of endearment is one-of-a-kind, although it sounds like the original "honey" :) it's nice to know you have found a great meaning for "hane". I learned something today. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks dear for your well wishes... Love has no boundaries and it never goes for distance or religion... Love is by heart and soul not by body or other things... It is not easy to maintain love in such a long distance relations but nothing is impossible and while your love is so strong then it solves all problems by itself and it makes its path by itself. It does not matter from which country or religion or which part of word we belong... It just happens and it is most wonderful thing which can ever happen in life... Thanks Princess once again for your well wishes...

I don't think there is much of a story behind it, but my husband and I call each other "sweetheart" and "honey". We've been together for so long that I don't remember when we started using terms of endearment instead of our actual names, but it's been a long time. I can't remember the last time either of us used our actual names. Once in a while, if we are in a store or some other public place, and my husband can't seem to get my attention, he'll call me by my name. I have pet names for my kids, too. I don't use them for my son as much as I used to because he's a teenager now and doesn't really like it. My daughter, though, I call "peach" or "peanut" most of the time. If she's being silly, I might also call her "monkey".

Hi sunyskies! Me too, my boyfriend and I call each other honey and I got so used to it. now it felt weird to be called by our actual names. But when he says my real name, it means I'm in big trouble with him. uh-oh. LOL ;) I think it's cute to have pet names for your kids too, but as soon as they grew up and became a teenager, I bet they'll be embarrassed, but it's normal ;) Thanks for sharing! ;)
