Nowadays there is a growing tendency found in India which is to enjoy foot tapping numbers.Indian music with its rich heritage can produce mush better quality music.Lyrics which is an integral part of the song is gradually losing prominence and its place is taken up by copied music pieces from other parts of the globe.Though its true that we all like to dance to the tune of a song yet its quality should not be sacrificed. The lyrics must be given due attention to.Only then we can judge whether a song is good or bad.If the lyrics and the composition is in tune then there will be other Oscar winners like a r rahman from our country. So this is a humble request to the musical fraternity that please pay attention to the lyrics and try to compose your own melody.

You are absolutely right. That is what I meant. However, there is still chance of revival of our very own music. If the young generation stops listening to the hip-hops and focus there attention on our very own folk songs and the music directors start lifting the tunes from the folk songs then I believe that we will be able to preserve pur culture and heritage.Recently the music director Pritam lifted a few Bengali folk songs and composed tunes for prominent Hindi movies. The songs became instant hits.So all is not lost yet.I can see the ray of light at the end of the tunnel.
