I learned something new today and was wondering how many of my fellow mylotters knew this..or know of any other "weird" things such as this.
Did you know that Chinese food is one of the most craved foods after a night of drinking???
Apparetly after all the boozing the night before...our bodies desperately want salt.
I thought this was intersting and it made me wonder how many other useless facts we were made aware of..do you have any to share?

Oh I definitley do not doubt that cupid. I am so often told that the chinese food we have here in the US is nothing at all like the authentic chinese food found in its original country.

warmweatherwoman,
Just to let you understand your cravings here a little more, the Chinese diet unbeknown to a lot of you is actually a well balance, intrinsic, healthy and medically inclined. It is actually beneficial for one's body as far as health is concern.
A typical Chinese meal will have a dish of meat, a dish or 2 of vegetables, a generous helping of rice and soup. Lastly, desserts of sweet soups or fruits. So, as you can see it is really above the usual "chop suey" and fried noodles or fried rice that you have where you are.
Take a meat dish like fried beef with peppercorn - this dish is relatively easy to prepare yet it is deem to be nutritional where it provides the energy to handle the cold weather. Provides our body with antibodies to fight the colds, flu and bronchial infections. Also, peppercorn is known to have properties that will put cancer cells at bay.
Vegetables are known to provide the necessary fibers and nutritious vitamins. And we do not just eat any vegetables but vegetables harvested according to the seasons. One vegetable of the season and one dish a year round vegetable.
The Chinese food culture has a history dating as far back as thousands of years ago and I just simply could not finish here. If you are interested, do learn from your Chinese friends or restaurant owners. Don't just order from the menu, ask for the owner's recommendations and tell them your interest.
You will be amazed. Bon appetit!

Hey skysuccess,
As I stated above commenting to someone elses post- I have been told time and time again that the Chinese food we have here in the states (USA) is nowhere near the what the authentic food tastes like.
I love learning about the nutritional value of foods and try to use the knowledge I gain to my advantage. For instance after learning that garlic was so good for numourous things in the body...I add it to almost every dinner dish I make
The info on pepercorns is interesting (now I'm glad I got a peppercorn grinder not long ago)
The one think I do love about chinese food (at least the only type I have had) is the use of vegetables. I am not a huge vegetable fan unless I'm having a chinese dish- because they are so flavorful they way they are made.

That explains why I always run to the All You Can Eat Chinese Buffet after I have been hung over in bed all day! Looking up weird state laws can be pretty comical, too. Did you know in new york city it's illegal to wear heels over 8 inches? I think that's what it was, anyway. Maybe it was 9 inches. Who knows.
