When I travel I really have no choice.I don't like to stay in them. There are some dirty motels and it pretty much sucks when that's all that there is around.I usually don't get under the blankets,it creeps me out.I usually bring my own bedding and sleep on top of the bed. What do you do when you're stuck spending the night in a motel?

I don't like staying anywhere that isn't my own bed. I hate thinking that other people have slept on the same bed before. I don't like not knowing what has happened on that bed or in that room. Plus hotels don't wash everything everytime someone stays in that room. Which really really freaks me out. I always bring my own blankets and pillows I f I can when I travel.

I don't like motels!! There has been an outbreak of bedbugs in my area for the past year or so and motels and hotels are the worst cases. When I think of sleeping in a bed that has been occupied by hundreds of people it makes me shudder--who knows what was crawling on them or what they did on that bed?! I avoid staying in strange places if I can. I'll sleep at a friend's house or a family member's but I don't like sleeping in a publicly rented room.

Hi, Java09, I don't. Motels here are known to be of different reputation. In our country, people usually connote them as a temporary "haven" for lovers, sweethearts, unfaithful husbands and wives, who want to spend time alone. It is built for temporary stay... well, that's what I know of. I don't know if there are people who patronize using them for "legitimate" stay either for short or longer period. Also, I have not traveled to places where I don't have relatives where I usually stay in case I get the chance.

I dont like staying in cheap and dirty motel which is most of the ones i see when driving through a town. I bring my own blankets and pillows when i have to stay at a motel. If it weren't for the high risk of my car being robbed then i would probably sleep in my car.

I've not had to stay in motels much in the last several years, but when I do, I don't spend much time in the bed. For me, a motel room is a place to drop my stuff while I'm out doing the things I came to do. When and if I do sleep, I use the bedding provided, and so far I've not run into bedbugs, but I do check before lying down. I'm not sure what I'd do if I found any.

I am sorry but I love to stay in hotels. However, I avoid the ones that are dirty. There are certain chains of hotels that have a good reputation and are very clean. Those are the ones that I would advise you to stay in.
