If things turned very bad for you, would your pride allow you to beg on the street corner for money? Would you continue to beg if you were given sufficient money, or would you try to be industrious with the money you received? Do you think you could be enterprising enough to get off the street corner eventually? Share your thoughts.

I hope I never have to get to that point. I'm too shy to beg. I'd rather find another way. I have no problem accepting something from people if they offer. I try to be always generous so that hopefully if one day I'm in need others will just notice and remember my generosity and be generous to me when I'm in need. I have many talents but begging is not one of them. I'll probably die before I would beg.

Hi artistry! I'm shy about begging. But maybe I'm shy about begging for I view it as a failure on my part of not taking care of myself properly.
I'm reassured by this Scripture:
Psalm 37:25 (New International Version)
25 I was young and now I am old,
yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken
or their children begging bread.

....Hi there 1hopefulman, Hope that you are doing as well as you can do. I must say I can't imagine you being shy "o). A little maybe, but not a lot. That is a great thing to do as you have done, being generous to others. There's the "bread upon the waters"....quote. Let us hope and pray that we are never in this situation in our lives. Thanks for your reply, take good care.

...Hi 1hopefulman, Okay shy one. "o) Very, very on point, but then you find that He also says that the poor you will have with you always. So someone poor and not so righteous may need a little help. Hopefully not to have to resort to begging, but just to be given a little help along the way. Take it easy and thanks for the scripture.

First of all that this time must not ever come of any one's life and in mine too.
but if ever this time comes. i think i would not be able to do this. this really does not suit to my nature. as it is hard to be like that and to lean down and to listen bad words. as now all the beggers are not really in bad circumstances as they show. so people dont trust them and ignore them and it is very hard to confront those circumstances in reality.

...Hi there 1anurag1, You and I hope that this does not take place ever, as it really does take you into a place of very bad circumstances. i don't think that I would be able to beg for money, I have too much pride, so I would hsve to maybe, collect cans and bottles and redeem them. Perhaps find a dishwashing or cleaning job. One woman that I read about, got laid off from her job, she started calling up banks that had a lot of foreclosed properties and asked if she could clean the houses for them. She is now making $60,000 a year. You need a little creativity sometimes. Thanks so much for your response, take good care.

I don't want to beg for money. If this happens to me, I think I will beg for a job. It's better than just asking for money. At least I would still have a little dignity left. But if no one would accept me, then maybe I would beg for money, but only until I find a better option. I will save every cent I get to get myself out of that situation.

...Hi angelajoy, You make a very good point, why not beg for a job, before you beg for money? It would be very hard for anyone, I would think, no matter how tough things became to beg others for money. It certainly affects your self-esteem and as you mentioned, your dignity. I believe I would think along the same line as you, try to save some of the money, maybe go buy some things at the dollar store and sell them for two dollars, far away from the dollar store. "o) Hope we never have this experience. Thanks for your input, take care.

Begging is not a right thing , Every individual has self respect and begging is something which is not to be encouraged. It is a very bad thing to beg for something.Hard and smart work and a passion for getting something ,if these are there then Job will definetly come ,then money. It would be sufficient.

...Hi umabharti, If things got really, really bad, and you needed money for food, I am sure that most people would certainly do everything they legally could do to get money for their needs. It is very humiliating for a person to beg for money, but if it got so bad that one had to do it, then you do what you have to do and hope that the situation changes in a hurry. You are correct, if you try hard and do everything you can to find work, a job may just be there for you. Thanks for your response, take good care.

..Hi dreamnishu, There are situations in the world that I have heard of, where people will sell their organs for money. It's a blackmrket operation as I understand it. It may go on with people who get sick, need an organ and have lots of money, so they can buy organs from other people. I guess if you have two of whatever they are selling, then I guess they think that they will be alright. Interesting world. Thanks for your response, take it easy.
