I have seen this movie several times. Since it is my favorite movie. I was just wondering how we would treat a person that could heal like the guy in this movie could heal? When I seen this movie I thought of Jesus Christ when HE was on this earth, is this how HE was treated. Honestly if a person could heal like this wonder how we would treat him. Would we as humans put him to death. I would think who is this person. I would wonder where this person came from. If it was God HE would be able to read my mind and tell me who HE was. The anti christ is coming back first and is going to have wonderful powers. And will amaze some of us. If we don't know that the anti christ is coming first we may be deceived. I wonder why they made a movie like this. I wonder if the writer of this movie was thinking about the LORD when the person wrote this movie. Not sure of what I would do. But know I would surely pray about it. If you knew someone that could heal like this what would you think and do? Would you go up and see if this person could heal your problems?

Hi, free!
Maybe it's because I'm not a Christian that I didn't ever think of such things when I've watched this, one of my favorite films. I thought of the many peope who have gotten in touch with the powers they carry and learned to use them, even if by accident. We all have far more in us than we know!

Hi Cobra. I am a Christian and I am proud of that. I know if God hadn't been in my life I wouldn't have made it to my happy old age. I am blessed daily by God and I am proud of that. The only thing we have in us is what God gave us. The power is in us only through the grace of God.

Hi Cobra. No it is not my right to judge anyone. You have your faith and that is all that is important that we let God be our guide in everyday of our lives. I am almost 58 and God has always been my guide since I can remember. Good luck and God bless.

I've already watched The Green Mile many times... When I watched it again some of my friends arrived in my room and watched and they like it... Considering that it is not an action movie which is they like to watch... It has a great story and they love it!!!
I told them its a Stephen King Novel which is turned into a movie... and I said to them he has another novel The Shawshank Redemption and they also watched it. Because they love to watched that kind of movie so they watch the Prison Break Season 1...
During that time, everyone is watching in my room that looks like a small cinema...
And it ended up to me paying my electricity bill higher than I usually paying for!!!

Hello Mr. free_man!!! Well, then you should watch Prison Break. Starting from Season 1 of course...You'll gonna love it and hook with it. But it is not a 2 hour movie so you must have a lot of time to watch all the episodes...
Anyway, i forgot to mention that you should also read the The Green Mile novel if you can find the time... And since I'm talking about Stephen King, read and watch also his Misery novel if you still havent...

Okay,I love Stephen King's work and of course his novel-based and other movies including the Green Mile. I doubt though that he wanted to compare the character with the Lord Jesus, it was merely more of his imagination. Now, if I had the opportunity to meet and get to know somebody with similar powers, the ability to heal any disease then I'd probably feel so lucky and perhaps try to help as many sick people as possible, but that's if his okay with that. It's not my powers in that situation so I have to convince him or ask his permission about it. But if he could heal problems then that would be a better miracle.

Hi Choybel. I don't know what Mr. Kings ideals was I just thought of how The LORD JESUS CHRIST must have felt when all HE wanted to do is make people that was sick well. Jesus was sent here by God to die for our sins. This movie just made me cray. I don't know many people that would be as graceful as you and I. I have met many people in my life but few that really and truly love the LORD. I am a Christian and don't give a hoot who knows. I am proud of knowing the LORDs and try my best to do as God would have me do. Before I do something I usually think to myself is this what Jesus would have done.

I do have one question. They knew he was innocent yet they executed him. Doesn't any innocent man deserve to be fought for??? Of course, this is a movie and just a story.I wonder how many innocent men have been locked away or killed in the name of justice??

If I was one of the prison guards in The Green Mile, I would do everything in my power to prevent John Coffi's execution, especially considering the tremendous power he possessed as shown in the miracles he was able to perform.
That ending is one of the most emotional and provocative scenes in cinema history, in my opinion

This is one of my favourite films as it is based on a story written by my favourite author Stephen King.I have watched it a few times as we have the DVD of it.
I found this a very good movie and enjoyed it very much I had also read the books before the movie came out and they are exactly like the movie.
It is very sad at the end.

I remember seeing this movie a long time back and I thought it was really good and quite powerful too! I'm sure that there are plenty of people in reality who can really do something like this. If I had a major medical problem I certainly wouldn't think twice about contacting someone like this in order to heal me of all my ailments! I think that there is a lot that we don't understand about how our minds work! The scientists are continuing to push their studies forward in this area but I suppose we have a long way to go before finding out what is really going on. Andrew

I'd watched this movie only in 2004 and I must admit this is a good movie, the story is super sentimental, but like you, I was also appalled with how Stephen King (the writer) presented the character of John Cofey (the big guy who heals). I think he deserves to live as he has no bad intention but just heal. His case was badly handled and there was lots of injustices. That was really a sad fate.

I believe that The Green Mile was a short story written by Stephen King, along with The Shawshank Redemption, another ace film that came out roundabout the same time?
I don't know if Mr King is the religious sort but he does write books that make us think doesn't he? I'd really like to think that if that character did appear in real life that we would treat him better than he was in the film (at the start, anyway). Personally, I went all funny at the electrocutions, something I'd have nightmares about if I let it get to me too much.
I would really like to read "Under The Dome" at some point by the same author. Sometimes, I am in awe at this guy's talent!

Hi Janey. I do believe your right I think it was writen by Stephen King. He is one of my favorite authors. I have read many of his books. They don't make me have nightmares. But seeing movies they will frighten me. He does make you think. Yes to start it would be wise to treat him better. I cried when they electrocuted him. I wondered at that time about Jesus Christ and HIS crucifixion. God was proud of HIS Son but it still must have hurt to see that HIS creation did such evil to HIS Son. I haven't read Under The Dome, what is it about?
