It seems that the Obama Administration, Democratic Congressional Leaders and the United Auto Workers are all demanding that Toyota turn over their records to see if they responded to the recall in a timely manner. I googled the NTSB to see what other probes were don on Auto Makers to see if they were done in a timely manner. I found three pages, all of them dealing with the current Toyota's Recalls. There were no other probes into timeless of Recalls.
Why was Toyota singled out?
1. They are a foreign Corporation
2. They are the biggest Competitor to GM and Chrysler
3. They are a non union Company
4. They are not controlled by the Union (GM and Chrysler are partly owned by the Union and the government)
This is how things are done in Chicago - don't just beat your enemy or competition Destroy them. When Barack Obama was running for the State Senate some how his opponents were destroyed in public, When he ran for the US ?Senate his Democrat Opponents were force out and during the election his Republican Opponent was publicly destroyed. It was done by people and groups that supported him. This is the mentality of the Chicago Political machine. Now this machine seems to be in Washington DC.

Almost every Car Maker has had recalls in the past year has had recalls.

This is one of the concerns with the Government owning Auto Companies. If the government can make Toyota look bad or cause them to lose market share it would help GM and Chrysler. What records will the government demand from Toyota and will those records help their competition? How many projects will be put on hold to gather the information the government wants? What will be disclosed by the of hand comment? Look what happened to the Private Jet industry and to Las Vegas over off handed comments. I just see this investigation as a way to damage Toyota and cause them to lose market share and worse for Toyota for them to lose face in the eyes of the world.

I sense a conflict of interest in all of this.
Yes, the Chicago tactics are in use by 0bama and his co-conspirators.
His is the most crooked and dishonest administration that our country has seen for many years... if not the most crooked ever.
They all need to be charged for treason and RICO violations... including his union lackeys.
