do you sing out loud or only in secret?

I like to sing. Sometimes I will sing to myself while I am cooking and even in the garden although in the garden I will sing softly so the other neighbours don't hear. When I was at work, one or two people would sing just for fun at odd moments but not me, my singing is private at those times, just in my head. I used to sing with the children when they were little and sometimes we will burst into song now they are grown up. My husband who did church choir when he was younger, almost never sings out loud and none of his family sing spontaneously. What about you? Do you like to sing? Are you a secret singer, just in the bathroom or when alone or are you a jolly sing it to the world type? Maybe you are in a choir or group?

I like singing even if I don't have a good voice. hehehe. I sing out loud when I'm with my family or friends, and sometimes when I'm working I would burst out into the song that's playing on my ipod. hahahaha. My officemates are already used to my singing so they don't really comment on it anymore. But you can't really make me sing with people I don't know, cause I get shy, not only because I don't know them, but mainly because I don't really have a good voice, so they might laugh at me.

Hahahaha. I'm lucky cause I have incredibly understanding officemates. hahahah. And they wouldn't really say anything to me, or are they just afraid of me? Hmmm.

That is like me except about the work bit. I don't mind who at home hears me but I wont sing for strangers. At work we had one or two quite mean people who would have said things about it and I wouldn't give them the opportunity.

my dad had told me when i was young, not to sing in a lousy manner, sing properly as what the professional singers do. don't be afraid to sing it out loud or don't be ashamed of your voice. sing out loud as whispering the lyrics of a song is not singing.

Do you do it though? For me if someone said sing loud and clear, I thin i would become very self conscious and sing very small instead.

I think you must be quite a commanding person to coordinate a choir. They must do as you say or it is a shambles LOL I think i like to sing undirected the best, then if I mess it up, it is only me that cares.

I like to sing, but never sings out loud in public or out house. If people heard I am singing I will become shy.when I am take shower or do somethings alone I will sing a song to myself.

The shower is a great place to sing because the water can hide your singing from the world. I sing in there too. We have a very small kitchen and I think the smallness helps to bounce a voice back and make it sound much better. I am sure outside I would sound quite reedy and thin voiced.

it's a case to case basis. if i'm feeling shy... i sing in secret. like a jukebox playing in my head. but if i'm in the i-don't-care-if-your-ears-bleed state... i just sing my heart out. besides, it's one of the few things that remain free!

Yes like me really. I have moments where I just let it all out LOL. They are extremely rare though. Mostly I keep it to myself if other ears might detect my warblings.

i like to sing and it is actually my hobby... i sing out loud whenever i can... i sing at work, in the kitchen, toilet, while taking a bath, in the car, etc... and i used to be a choir member in my church too until my hubby asked me to quit because the practice session is too late and he is not willing to drop or pick me up... but regardless, i still like to sing until now... take care and have a nice day...

I also like to sing since both of my parents are into music, but not professionally though. I rarely sing in the bathroom or in any secret place, but when the mood hits me, I sing without care if the neighbors can hear me or not. I search youtube for some songs that I have grown up singing then set the volume high. Singing is fun whether you have a good voice or not. For me, it is a way de-stress and relax after a long hard week at work. So, keep on singing and have fun.

I was traveling on the train once, all by myself in the carriage which had rows of seats back to back and I was singing for ages, then when I got off at my station , a little old lady got off too from the same carriage, she must have heard me warbling away all that time and I didn't notice her. I did feel embarrassed.

i do break into song once in ahwile when i have a song stuck in my head but i really dont care who hears me. i have a fairly good voice. my daughter, too, will break into song at any given moment (she has a vocals coach and sings on our Praise Team at church) so she sounds ok too, but sometimes it gets to be annoying!!

i sing out loud and did so often at work to the point where they used to wander around looking pained! But as I was the boss...... Hee Hee. I was a chorister in our local church as a boy but once my voice broke that was it. You hear better singing from a damp cat on a cold car roof!

My husband was also a chorister . HE sings very low and deep now. My son is such a deep voiced singer that he embarrasses himself except at home.

I usually will just sing when I feel the need to. I love singing and it is very enjoyable. I usually sing when I am alone and by myself. My husband loves to sing and he does it in public if he has to. There is no shame in his game.

As far as I am concerned, I am a person who likes to sing so much. For me, if I want to sing , I won't sing alone. If I sing alone, I want to sing out loudly. If I am not alonesinging, I think I will go to the KTV where is the best place for singing. Then I can enjoy singing there and enjoy my life to the fullest. Besides, Singing can help me release the dtress.

I have only ever sung with other people in church and school apart from my own family. It is comradely and fun I think.

Hi Pandaeye I love singing! However, I only sing in private. It gets worse after watching american idol, i just wanna sing my heart out (despite having no talent or even a nice voice to start with, heh) Haha. I used to sing in the bathroom but my brother, who can sing very well got annoyed with it. So now I only sing when no one is around. However, at school I had a friend who loved singing, so I tagged along. Hehe. But sometimes its rather embarrassing to spontaneously burst out with a song in public. Haha. I sing to myself before I sleep. Kinda weird I know. Have a nice day!

My daughters flatmate sings in the mornings. I think i might get tired of that if I am not up yet. It is usually really nice to hear people singing to themselves. I rarely hear anyone do it these days.

I grew up in a musical family. My father was a music publisher and heavily involved in the music business. His father, brother, sister... they were all in the music business. My father would play band music on the stereo every Sunday morning. Apparently (I was too young to remember) all the kids would march around the livingroom to the music. LOL! I took choir in high school out of obligation really. I love music and I love singing. I love musicals. I would sing anywhere anytime. I don't care who hears me. My husband will put the headphones on while vacuuming so we can't hear the music but we can hear him singing. Sounds rather odd. Makes me wonder what I sound like when I'm singing. I love to show off my rendition of "Climb Every Mountain" from the Sound of Music. If you know the song, it has some very high notes. I am not a soprano so it's pretty much a joke when I sing it. My kids, being teenagers, don't really care to hear me sing or watch me dance anymore. Apparently I'm embarrassing, even if it's just us in the room.

My mums family were circus people. Her dad was a clown and her grandparents were trapeze and horse performers. We don't have anyone like that now. Mum was an actress and singer but she wanted to have her family and left all the razzmatazz behind. I think she was perhaps a bit embarrassing when we were kids as she would do little performances outside the school gates. I like to think that the singing comes from her.

LOL I love to sing, even though I don't have much confidence in myself. I have sung on stage a couple of times and often sing with my partner when he plays guitar. I often sing along to my music when I'm busy around the house, it cheers me up when I'm down and makes me feel much happier.

I like that picture you have described of you two singing to the guitar. We used to go to a baptist church as well as the Quaker meetings when I was younger and the songs were the part that I remember the most. At school there were always quite cheery hymns too.

I often sing out loud as it can change you mood. I know many people do not like to do this, and perhaps it is easy for me because I used to sing and play keyboards on stage for a living. _Derek

You are a secret singer. The shower has good acoustics I think. Lots of singers on the radio cant really sing well, they use manipulation of sounds to get the right balance. I like the ones who can just stand up and sing without tricks of any kind.

I'm a secret singer I know my singing voice is awful, and I don't like the thought of humiliating myself by singing in front of others, or making other people suffer with my singing, so I usually save it for when I am alone

I like when I hear someone singing and they don't realise anyone can hear, it sounds so happy. I do sing in the car when I do the big shop. I am all alone although there are people all around. I only sing on the fast bits of road though, not in built up areas.
