do you know about ASH WEDNESDAY? have you gone to church today or tonight?

hello, friends. for non-catholics or non-christians, ash wednesday marks the beginning of lent. i was supposed to go to church tonight to hear the mass but because i'm sick, i failed to do so. do you know about ASH WEDNESDAY? have you gone to church today or tonight? thank you and peace be with you.

the bible nowhere commands or condemns us to observe ash wednesday. though in the old testament we can find numerous accounts wherein people used dust and ashes to symbolize their repentance or morning (2 Sam 13:19; Esther 4:11 etc). Basically Roman Catholic, most Orthodox and some protest denominations observed this event. it is a good thing to repent of our sins, but it does not mean that we'll do it only during lent, should it be a daily activity? we are at liberty to decide. God is interested in our hearts and not in the rituals we're doing.

I was not able to go to church today, my schedule today was quite busy. Hopefully I can't marked this Sunday.

we are Baptists and actually dont have any sort of service at our Church for Lent, however, we do give up stuff. my daughter is giving up soda for Lent. i think by giving something up for Lent, it helps us realize the pain and suffereing that Jesus went through.

I was not able to go to church too Cheiyen. I went out and had my girlfriend's phone repaired. I hope your doing ok now. It's lenten season, i hope people will come to realize what Jesus went through.
