I probably do it for about that same amount and then I floss till I get everything I can from between my teeth and then I gargle for another 2 to 3 minutes. So all together I usually take about 10 minutes cleaning my mouth out.

That's a long time. I brush my teeth under 1 minute cause my enamel got thinner over the years of brushing it for 3 minutes or so. It was a BIG mistake. Never brush your teeth too long accdg. to any dentist.

hi ramaswamyvtkv, I brush my teeth within 1 minute, if I feel that I am not fresh, I will take 1-1 1/2 minutes. Anyway the person who is brushing his/her teeth can know wether their brush is enough or not( due to fresh feeling of them). And I also have a dentist relative who advise everyone not to brush like washing vessals, as enamil goes off after several brushes and tooth become sensitive and then .....

hi! I always brush my teeth at least 2 minutes and twice a day, because I know the right and long teeth brushing is good for the teeth, because people, who brush their teeth for only 30-40 seconds, don't do anything, because the plaque is still on and between the teeth and all the food rests are still there. I have watched it on the TV and since then I really brush my teeth at the right way

My dentist encourages me to brush for at least a minute and a half. I always push it too. I try walking around the house doing other things while brushing so I can push it up. I also brush in front of my son to encourage it on him later in life. I heard children pick up dental hygiene habits from parents so i try my best to show the best.
