I've always been a fan of either Dell, or Compaq. I've had a Sony before, but they aren't really that great. If you want something good, I suggest you get either Compaq or Dell, both allow you to design it to the way that you want.

if you have unlimited budget then you should go for alienware... it is one of dells..... alienware has been called as the " computer freak's wet dream"...... so you can see the effect.... the only problem with an alienware is that it weighs freaking 5 kilos..... If you have limited budget like 50 gs then i think dells are the best...

I have a Dell, that I purchased last month, and I really like it. I have used Compaq and Gateway, but I like this Dell better. It has evertything on it that I need, and then some. I do wish though that it had more USB ports, but since it doesn't, I went and purchased a USB hub, and now I have plenty of USB ports. It does have a webcam built in and it has an Intel Pentium chip, whih I relaly like, as I like them better than an AMD. All in all, it is a good laptop, and I am glad that I bought it. Take care, and happy mylotting.

not a big fan of HP because of heat issues and "no display" issues .. right now, my vote goes to Asus .. less heat, performs well .. :)
