i have experience lived in Jogjakarta for 4 months. it's difficult to me to eat food made by Jogjakarta's people. All taste was sweet, not only food but also drink. if i requested tea, they served tea with sugar, ha ha .. it's different with my hometown. in addition, in Jogjakarta, there were many places provided "penyetan".the taste was spicy. Do you have any experience in jogjakarta? mylotters, share with me.

you are absolutely right. almost all food from central java and jogyakarta normally is sweet. at first I don't like it but i should get use to it because my husband come from this region. for penyetan I like it so much because it is spicy and I love spicy food. by the way where are you from?

I think, you can be due to normal with this. Javanese and Sundanese food is different. I usually eat with Sundanese food. in the first time, it make me culture shock in food. i think you are now, where i came from.

I have grandma and two uncles who live in Yogyakarta. I usually visit Yogyakarta twice a year. but I have no problem with food there cos my favorite food is hot&spicy. I like gudeg and penyetan, like chicken, cat fish or gurame and even tempe..
