This was another Mania with low quality matches but my favorite would go to Randy Savage vs. Ted DiBiase in the WWE Championship Tournament Final. It had the fans on their feet from start to finish. What bout?

Wrestlemania 4 was one of those odd cards. Not much to write home about for match standpoint, but story wise, it was quite an interesting Wrestlemania. The entire tournament was interesting, although the first round was an utter waste. Plus, it was disappointing that they never did Ricky Steamboat/Randy Savage round two in the tournament. It would be awesome. Sure, WWF rarely did babyface vs. babyface matches back in the day, but still Steamboat against Savage, that would have been one of the better matches of the night. Instead we got Greg Valentine against Randy Savage which was merely fine. Anyway, I am going to have to agree with Randy Savage against Ted DiBiase as being the best match of the night. Granted, there were better DiBiase against Savage matches but this one was fine what it was. Plus the ending planted the seeds for the main event for Wrestlemania 5. When do you see that in this day in age in WWE? You really do not, given the company seems to book month to month, if that at times. Also, I would have to offer an honorable mention to the tag team title match with Demolition against Strike Force. Somehow, Rick Martel gets mentioned again. The guy was underrated in the ring I think and had a lot of good matches but does not really get mentioned a lot when great wrestlers from the 80s get mentioned. Tito Santana was always fun in the ring, even though this match and loss was the beginning of him getting knocked down the card. And Demolition, perhaps one of my favorite tag teams of the 80s. These guys started as a bargain basement, low rent, Road Warriors but this victory was the beginning of them standing on their own as an actual tag team with their own legacy. The match itself was decent enough.

I have to agree with you on this one Wrestlemania 4 was definetly one og=f the weakest earlier wrestlemanias ever. The bets match had to be the final with ted and Rnady as you mentioned because this declared the new champ for the vacant title.
