As I was listening to the radio this song Fireflies by Owl City keeps on playing. I switch to another channel and In coincidence it is the same song. I like the song because is soothing. It makes you feel relax. It is best heard in coffee shops or quiet places but my only concern is that doesn't it make it boring if its played over and over again? I'm almost fed up of it since its always the same song 9 am in the morning 12 noon and 4 pm. It has schedule believe me. This happened since their release. It should have been played like thrice a week or so.

*Checking this song out on iTunes* what time do you usually listen to the radio? I somehow noticed that the radio stations are playing the most popular songs every 6-7 AM. Is this song on myx hit chart right now?

That's the only thing I never liked about radio to be honest. As soon as a good song is released, they have a nasty habit of playing it over and over and over again until quite frankly, you get sick of hearing it

They should reconsider that it is pretty boring when they do this. It makes me want to hear the oldies more than the constant repeatition of the same songs.

I love fireflies but if you're listening to the radio that much, of course you'll most likely run into those playlist cycles. I think all songs are like this when they first come out. I like them when they aren't overplayed. Once that has happened that's also an overkill. Thus, what's next? They're at the award shows and so on. I try to keep the variety by listening less but tuning in every once in awhile.

Your concern about it being overplayed is why I no longer listen to the radio for more than twenty or thirty minutes in a week...and even that is too long sometimes. As for Fireflies... It was okay the first time I heard it but the more I hear it the less I like it, to the point of cringing when ever it comes on. Not because it has been overplayed but because it sounds so much like another song, Such Great Heights by the Postal Service, which I love so hearing another song that sounds like it is a little upsetting.

hi there! Yeah! I once loved watching "Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga on MTV but I've noticed that both Channel V and MTV played it redundantly, over and over again, like more than 5 times in a day. It makes me sick. I already hate the song. Haha! Like with radio stations when there is a hit song they always play it more than three times in a day. It makes my ear bleed.

Glad to hear you side. Yes that is why I just watch MTV or channel V with my friends at home. I dislike watching it everyday for it seems like it is the same new songs. Over and over again.

it is what happens on radios sadly. They know a song is good, they play it throughout the day and or people request it to be played not knowing its played like 10x. Best way to avoid it is to stay on the same channel or switch to different genre radio stations.

Yeah it is a drag to hear it over and over again. More like it becomes an anthem. I happened also to Sean Kingston's hit songs. Now I kinda dislike listening to it. It is an abuse in technology and media promotion.

I know that is the best song of 2009 but I did not find the song so good! If I were you, I would have switched off the radio when it started playing for the second time!
